Yes. Get one of the clip on light from Walmart. They are about $10 and get one of those curly q bulbs to put in it. I have mine on 24 hours a day and using that bulb keeps energy costs very low.
The light is for macro algae as well as pods and other things that will end up growing in there.
For macro algae. I have chaeto and have good results with it. There are a lot of other kinds out there but from what I have heard chaeto is the best for our application.

What type of Pump? I was just thinking as I did a quick sketch of the sump on paper that I would still need to find a way to pour the WC water into the sump as it will be on a shelf inside my cabinet which i cant pull out. I was thinking of originally making a SUMP because it seemed easier and healthier for the fish to add water changes in their because it would mix a bit before it enters the DT but now i can't even pour it in as i won't have space, I need to find a way to take water out of the tank and back into the tank for WCs.

where do i get cheato and I just put that in my fuge with a heater and Live rock in the fuge as well?
You can get a piece of cheato from a reefer. It grows and grown until it needs to be trimmed. When it's trimmed people either sell it, give it away, or throw it away.
For the clip on light it's in the tool section of Walmart. It is just a light socket on a clip. The clip will attach to the side of the tank and point the light at the cheato.

Water changes: you will want to change 10-20% every week or two. If you are able I would recommend a 5 gallon water change once a week. That would be about 10% weekly.
I measure out my salt (by weight) at 1.4lbs per 5 gallons. I currently use reef crystals brand salt. The link below has the best deal I have found. They offer free shipping at $50 so I get a box. I just noticed they have a sale that puts it below the free shipping.

Once I weigh my salt, I pour it over into my bucket then add the water. I have a heater and pump designated for mixing my water for water changes.
Let the salt and water mix in the bucket for 24 hours. This allows a good amount of time for the salt to fully dissolve. It is necessary step to not introduce non-dissolved salt to the tank. Non-dissolved salt can cause damage for your tank inhabitants. Never mix salt water in the tank or sump directly.
Pump: Get a maxi-jet 600 for your water changes. It is a small pump that has an output that is easy to attach a hose to. The diameter is 1/2". Home depot/lowes sells 1/2" hose by the foot. Get how much ever you want. When it's time to transfer the newly mixed saltwater into your sump, turn the pump off and attach the hose. Put the pump back into the bucket/container and the hose into your sump. Turn the pump on. No need to pick up and pour ever again

Here is a thing of note, when i had a QT up, without any substrate, i noticed lots of salt or residue, probably was salt thought at the bottom that nerve dissolved nearly 3 weeks in the tank.
I checked the maxi jet 600, its about $14, its a powerhead that can be used as a pump?
by saying never mix salt water in the tank or sump you mean don't create salt water that way correct? you don't mean don't pour the mixed water in their.
and I'm assuming i use the same method to extract water from the tank for my WC as i do to add water back in.
and to top off i just can add water in the sump now and it'll bmix before it hits the DT, love that.

The stuff at the bottom was probably detritus. It's fish poop and waste that needs to be taken out of the tank.

Oh and remember. Whatever evaporates needs to be replaced with fresh water not salt water. Salt doesn't evaporate so if you top off with saltwater it will raise your salinity.
