Super bummed. Is this worth fixing ?

Is on the outside? I would be a little concerned it looks like only a tiny bit would be holding the pressure. The idea to cut a small piece and use thick glue would be good.

That crack looks more like a hair to me.

Anything different done for a hair ? Or is that better cuz it’s not a fully crack ?

A hair I mean as in a dog, cat, or human hair. The thicker types are ment for filling in gaps. Where as the thinner glues could work for small cracks.

hi ,definitely use a small patch over area , agree above .
# 4 1st if you choose, then #16 inside and outside.
personally i would skip the 4 and just patch piece ,#16 ,let dry,go over perimeter of patch ,and outside of sump .
like new...

When you say patch do you mean a piece of arycllic or patch as on Weldon 4? I just did a full test and it’s leaking do you think that should still be good enough knowing that it leaks now ?

It’s on inside and outside. I filled it and it leaks now I was not aware. Thick glue or Weldon 16?

a piece of acrylic as patch, using only #16 WIWD.
dry and clean area, go over crack,bottom seam,add weld to patch ,wait to dry ,then around patch and ,over crack on outside.

box store ? ,glass shop ? just make sure is acrylic ,not plastic.
use same thickness as sump, or no less than 3/16" ...

Of course. Just worried it won’t fuse if I can’t get any liquid into the grooves. I’m sure I’m over thinking it but a leak in the tank scares me.

Instead of using a needle applicator you can use a syrenge with 1-2 mils of #3 or #4 to force the glue into the crack. I'd test the sump by leaving it outside full of water a couple days to make sure there wasn't a real slow leak.

I ended up testing it before and there is a small leak now. I’m going to retest it once I do the repair.

If water can leak through the crack then Weldon 4 can easily fill it and melt the acrylic back together. A patch on top after is not a terrible idea for extra safety.

No superglue, Weldon products only.

It’s handy stuff to have as you can fix anything acrylic with it. Bought some skimmers cheap because they had a crack or broken part and Weldon it back as new. Got to love acrylic.

Yea when I said I wasn’t sure If I could find a hole that was before I knew there was a leak. You trust this stuff to hold up for years ?

Yes. It chemically melts the acrylic together. It is the same thing they used to melt the seams/sides of the tank together to make it. As long as you don’t miss a spot.

Now a glass tank, it would be garbage imo.
