Supplementing T5 with Metal halide for shimmer?

Can you provide more detail on this comparison? Which ATI bulb or bulbs are these? Where it exceeds, in this specific comparison, does that equate to better coral health and tank visual appearance?
It's the Ati bulb that BRSTV always use as their reference, don't know exactly which one that is.
The screenshot is taken from this Youtube video, look from 1:04:45 for the comparison.

It's a combination of bulbs (Blue Plus, Coral Plus and Actinic).

Leaving the question of does exceeding in certain areas equate to better?

At the end of the day results is what matters!
We are free to choose the type of results we want.
LEDs are the fashion now... they grow corals... people like the fashion.
The hobby has become a fashion show with lots of fluorescent rich clothes on display.
As long as people listen to BRS videos they will sell what they want at the time they want.
Isn't that nice?

To the original post. The difference is huge. I've had Kessils , Radions, XHO Reefbrites and 14k Phoenix MH and the MH is by far my favorite when it comes to shimmer, and pretty much everything else lighting related. It's so natural and just awesome to look at a MH lit tank. Something you just have to see in person.

If certain corals do benefit from having UV (<400nm) in the spectrum then probably yes. The Ati bulbs are lacking there.

What? There is not a single led that uses diodes below 400nm besides reef breeders lumen bars

T5 True Actinic produces around 380nm peak.

Not true, the GHL Mitras 7200 uses 385nm and the Reef Brite UV-A uses 395nm (if you want to count that one).

I posted this one earlier in this thread. Kessil a360x vs Ati T5 Blue plus (Ati is the white line):

That tiny amount of 380-ish?
