Swissguard pickup

I talked to Kevin Kohen pretty extensively before getting my pair from him. He said they have very good luck pairing lios in general.

Well, they would never do in my 180g. I have tangs, angels, wrasses... oh, well.

Glad I live in Miami ! I saw a swissguard for $80,00 today at my local pet shop . Guess fish are less expensive here .

i paid $85 for the swissguard in the original post yesterday. thought it was a good score. it is the candy basslets we are talking about that are in the $700 range.

So, your saying that it wouldn't be a disaster adding a second swissguard?
I'm with Ben [and Kevin] that you'll have no trouble forming a pair if you're committed and have the means to remove one if necessary. I use 'social acclimation boxes' to form pairs/trios, which works wonders, and lets you know immediately how the existing fish will react without any physical damage. They're nearly identical to what Elite Aquatics offers. Make sure to include a hiding place in these boxes (PVC, fake plant, etc.).
The store that I bought this one said they would fight to the death in my 50 gallon tank.
If you 'dump and hope' approach it, they may be onto something ;)

The only problem with using one of those acclimation boxes, is the box would have to be up near the top of the tank because of all my coral.
The existing basslet might not ever see the new guy .

@benny z
Could you please tell me what other fish you have in your nano? Besides the Fire Fish that is.

Yes. :)

Besides the helfrichi firefish and pair of basslets, there's a yellow-banded possom wrasse, a geometric pygmy perchlet, and a yasha goby/shrimp pair.
