T5 combination for my new tank

ATI Blue plus
ATI True Actinic
Leds
ATI Blue plus
ATI True Actinic

I've seen this combo with the Prestige-LED fixture and has amazing color

Josh my man, you know that I'm very biased towards Full/Broad Spectrum LED's so if this is the route taken for the LED fixture why bother with T5's ??? I'd put my DIY fixture up against any T5 combination or LED-T5 combo for color pop and coral growth. Nearly 32 years of Reefkeeping and have had every type of lighting except plasma at one point or another and none compare in the big picture to LED's if setup correctly. Very similar mixes can be had for not arm-n-leg pricing with Reef Radiance and Reef Breeder fixtures. You can have (3) Reef Radiance DM-155e shipped for $477 and for another $60 can have your own custom mix of emitters if you want. I'd even help you with selection and layout Josh. The two main reasons so many people have issues with LED's is #1 to high in intensity and #2 non Full/Broad Spectrum fixtures. There is a science to using LED's correctly just as there is for T5's and Halides and willing to bet that 90% or more of the Nay Sayer's just don't get it.

Cheers, Todd

P.S. When I did run T5's my favorite (4-lamp) combination was True Actinic + Blue plus + Coral Plus + Blue Plus front-to-back

I have a 8.bulb tek light. I want to grow decently but also have the color. What should be my combination????

Umm t5s won't light anything in a tank that deep! If you want coral I grow in the bottom 15" of your tank your gonna have to put halides on it with 20k high end double ended bulbs and reefbright XHO LEDs on the sides for the blue accent.

I'm talking to joshporksanwich.

And your combo should be this

And add two aqua blue specials for the other two bulbs
Make your tank look like mine

I have 8 t5s and a reefbrite xho actinic led on my 90g tank, I believe its 24" deep and I grow sps on my sand, I've also recently bleached a watermelon chalice :( so I have plenty of light

****. Lol I was going to get the current led strip which is only 46 Watts but it has the lightning feature which is pretty cool

Lol, I'm surprised you fit all that over an 18" tank.

josh i would go with Outer bulbs whould be blue+ inner bulbs should be purple+

so like this

Blue+
purple+
LEDS
Purple+
Blue+

Thanks bro! so simple and great! I wish the others would do it like you. Simple minded people understand each other lol!!!!!!

That makes sense since you will be seeing it from both sides. ^^^

If it's not blue enough switch two bulbs out for Super Actinic. If too blue switch P+ for Coral+. If you want more pink color switch the P+ for Fiji Pink. P+ is just B+ with added red. Fiji pink is a different animal and it is hard to find a good spectrum graph of it.

Honestly for zoanthids, for the T5's id just run:

Blue+
True Actinic
Leds
True Actinic
Blue+

If your leds have an adjustable white channel you can make it more or less blue from there.

I agree I think this would look better than the 2 purple plus.

If you plan to use the white led in the middle then I like this combination, color will pop.

ATI blue plus
Wavepoint ultra growth waves
led
Wavepoint ultra growth waves
