I have two braces on my tank, so three lights are probably the way to go.

T5 FOR LIFE!

The amount of experienced reefers that have made the decision to leave LED and go back to T5 is tremendous. Leds make the corals color pop, but then in a few months to a year that goes away. The best seems to be a combo of led and t5. Some will also never leave MH.

Love my kessil 150 iv got it over my 29 cube my sps love it grow like crazy . Would highly recommend it my next tank I'm going get kessil 360

In many cases colors fade together, they also tend to dull out. Im not speaking directly of kessil, just LEDin general. Many say that is the lack of uv that the sun puts out, mh and t5 put out this uv.

In the case of Kessil they do have true UV,I don't think a lot of other LEDs do.

I have 2 360s and a160, I to have noticed that my corals colors are fading. I think I am going to supplement with 4 t5s to bring some color back.

The Best thing to do is Kessil/T5 combo. I do this on my cube, and when both lights are on, they look nice.

I'm a kessil man. Never had an issue and get great growth. Ran 4 150w's on my 75g which was a bit more than recommended but looked awesome. Building a 150g cube now and plan on running 2 360N ...maybe 3 if need be.

Here is a pic from the top of my tanks.
I hang the Kessils from the ceiling (not real happy with this solution but works for now). The T5s came with legs that I have on top of my hood. My hoods are open on top.

Im running 2 360we aqua tuna blue , on a 60 gallon truvu i have had good results.i recently added the controller and started running it all blue for 12 hours as i heard corals seem to multiple even more people say. In all i like em there not in the way an are a great look. Never tried t5s but great results

I have 1 350w tuna blue left saving for the sump. I want to keep hi end nems, inferno, in the sump, but not sure t5 is a must or kessil is ok. My nem unber t5 for 3 years and happy. I plan to keep it that way for the dt. Don't have room in the sump area so kessil seems to fit the profile....

The tank looks very blue in pix, more natural in person. This is from a couple months ago with kessils only, not much in it yet

this is with the T5s added to the kessils, bulbs are actinic only. it looks way bluer in the picture with T5s but in person my eyes see very little difference to the color with the T5s added.

shadowing is also a major factor, with T5 the light is diffused more and has better coverage.

I never posted that a few hours ago...

The way i would do it is to build a canopy with two T5 bulbs of your liking and two kessils of your liking. Space out the kessils evenly, than mount one single bulb retro fit in front of the led, and one behind it. I would probably use the true actinics for both tubes or one blue plus and one actinic.

That bit said, i cant believeim actually posting about tubes again.

Its really the way to go. In all honesty if one would do a tripple hybrid they would have all the best advances in reef lighting in the past quarter century.
