I actually took this tank down and I am working on a 45 JBJ rl that will be sps dominated once I get some equipment kinks worked out.

As for the light, the Hydra is a good fixture IME if mounted correctly as to provide enough spread. For a 45 though one fixture is not enough if your going sps. The light would work really well on a Biocube though, the Hydra provided good growth and coloration.

All blues are at 100 with white at 60 and UV at 50 now. Green and red are running at 40.

Right now I'm looking into working towards automating the dosing instead of doing it by hand just gotta get the right doser.

I moved and decided to move up in size. Right now I am gathering equipment prior to purchasing sps. My ATO keeps failing, I need to add a retrofit T5HO, hook up my dosing pumps and buy a new skimmer. I am big fan of Kalkwasser, always have been, love it for sps.

Skimmer broke, ATO has emptied it's self one to many times to be trusted again. Tank is a lot deeper needs more light......

Do you run a ATO on the wife's tank? And if so what one?

The Tunze 3155 has failed on me numerous times, over filling so I am looking at a different system.
You have the coral thumb, I say another tank is in order based on you're other systems and coral invasion from growth, get a shallow rimless for a frag tank.

Which ATO were you using?It would be nice to follow your new build thread

Right now non because my ATO keeps over filling, the sensor is bad, and the pump went bad numerous times as well. Typically I love Tunze products

Almost 1/2 gallon a day. In a smaller tank that makes a big impact. An ATO is a must.



I have moved up to the 45 gallon and having a difficult time getting it dialed in. I am going to give it 6 more months and if the tank still continues to have issues I am going back to the 30 gallon.
