Tampabay Live Rock

Also want to add I think TBS is great and I wouldn’t have done it any other way.

The newest hitchiker, a filter feeding crab...about 1.5 inches...

Anyone ever had these ?

Some of the stony corals that hitched in on the rock, can anyone ID it? It is doing quite well.

I believe those are cup corals. Unfortunately the couple I had didn’t make it. I had a rouge peppermint shrimp that must have thought they were aptasia.

Here’s a pic of my shellback crab. Unfortunately he is no longer with us. He flipped upside down in the middle of the night and the last Gorrilla crab I had a hard time catching made a quick meal along with the arms of my serpent star. Needless to say I pulled out every rock one by one to catch that bad guy. FullSizeR.jpeg IMG_4694.jpeg

Yep, that's them.... I have been feeding them and they seem to have a pretty strong feeding response.

I think the bad crabs that are being referenced are Gorilla crabs. My TBS came with 10 Gorilla crabs that I had to catch and dispose of. It also came with a decorator crab, shellback crab and multiple porcelain crabs which are all good crabs I’m my opinion.

I think I have one of these as well....we will see how it goes.

I would love to get 3 or 4 pounds for my 80gal.

They sell a 8 lbs premiun 'Treasure Box' shipped UPS which I got to first check out the rock...I then used air freight for the larger order. The UPS shipment was in GREAT shape with very little die off. High quality rock too.

I will probibly be getting some when I upgrade my tank

I have noticed at least one eunice valens and I know of another in a piece of KP aquatics rock. Anyone bothering with these guys? I normally give most critters the benefit of the doubt.

I do, all polychaetes are desirable in my experence. Until proven otherwise, they are valuable detritivores and sand stirers. Truth is, I do not know how you would actually rid yourself of them if you are using good live rock.
