So my yellow tang is in my 75, I feed a lot of nori everyday along with frozen Mysis. He has looked healthy until today, he has brown spots on his forehead area and his gills have lines on them. He is breathing heavily but is swimming. Normal. He has a single nodule on his left side and his stomach looks bloated. I will try to post an image tomorrow. Any ideas?

Well that's a whole lot of symptoms for one fish or disease. I bet he has several things going on with him. A picture (clear and close) is needed to be of any real help to you. Off the top of my head I'm thinking flukes and intestinal worms - but that's a guess based on your description.
How long have you had him? Was he quarantined? How and with what meds?

I have had him for around a month and a half. He was not quarantined and had no meds. I will get a photo tomorrow. How would I treat intestinal worms? What do you mean by flukes?

Flukes are a flat worm that feed off of your fish. There are several different types that are all referred to as "flukes". Before I start pointing you in different directions with different meds and treatments I want to look at the pictures when you get them up. That way I dont confuse the heck out of you. :)

ok! Thanks for the help. Hopefully fully he will look better tomorrow and I will get a picture up. Should I be worried about my other fish though.

It's hard to say without knowing what he's got. I want to say "yes" but I can't do that yet. If i were you I would start thinking about a QT take and all the equipment that entails. Keep ya busy while we wait for pictures.

I have a filter and tank, all i would need is a heater. I wouldn't want sand or rock correct?

Right. An ammonia alert badge and some Stability would help as well. Oh and a power head for water movement and oxygenation.

I would send him to a farm upstate. Then pay $35 for one of his younger healthier cousins come visit from liveaquaria for a few years.

I love my aquatic pets. But I aint about to spend months "curing" and coddling a fish that costs less than dinner, and been with me less 90 days. Who made it out of QT only to get sick after. They make it 90 days I will bend over backwards to save them. I treat it like zoo's treat new births, no names till they make it through the danger zone.

But if you want to save him, melpyr gave some great advice. I also doubt it is that serious if he made it through QT. So you got a good shot.

(I developed this heartlessness after dozens of deaths in my betta fish hobby over the years, over half of them die in first 90 days due to poor treatment before they got to me.)

Basically I can, just have to setup a tour of sorts. The facility is huge and they have 4 massive bunker style coral tanks, they are about 20-24 yds long each, with 2 others half that size, and they have 2 rooms for their fish, and will packup and you can pay right their.

I use to live two hours from there! You've got to be kidding me. I just moved seven months ago and the first thing I did was start my tank. And to think I was near one of the largest online retailers...

Here he is, he looks a lot better this morning but still has the nodule and brown spots on his forehead. It's not easy to see the bump in the photo.

He does look healthy, so in this case its hard to say what to do, you may soak his food in some garlic to see if that will help with his internal problems.

I'm worried about the bump. It appears to be white now. When a fish get ick does it cause a large bump?
