You know, people like BRS keep Yellow Tangs in their tanks quite often. And Melevs Reef “Marc” kept a blue tang in his 60 gallon Anemone cube for a long time. Not sure if he still does or not. My first thought was “What”!!!!!. You gotta be kidding. Now he does have a 400 gallon tank sitting right next to his cube. Pretty sure the fish got banished from that tank because it was eating his zoas. And of course BRS with all their systems could just move a fish over to another system. If you’re for sure going to upgrade in the near future, I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t purchase the fish. Not sure how your tank is laid out rock wise. I’ve seen standard 75 gallon tanks with way less swimming room than an open-scaped 60 cube. I mean sure, that 75 gallon met the “minimum” tank size requirement and had a bigger footprint , but it was stuffed to the gills full of rock. Not much room left for swimming. So if you have a good bit of open swimming room and your current livestock is compatible, why not? The problem is, so many people plan on upgrading and that never happens. You see how these cubes have a fairly open aquascape. And you see the fish that are swimming in there. lol!!! Is it right or wrong to do this? Opinions will vary. They always do on these tang Tank Size threads.
