Tang in a Nano??

If you buy a very small bristle-tooth and you honestly plan on upgrading soon...it should be fine short-term. But why not just wait until you upgrade anyways?
And yes, everyone has a different opinion on this "sensitive" topic. If you feel fish are show pieces and only make your tank "colorful and pretty", then by all means, cram as many fish in your tank as possible. But if you are like me, sikyrd, and many others that consider fish as pets, wait until you can get a proper system up and going, for any fish you choose to get.
By the way, the second part wasn't directed at you OP, just my opinion on the great tang debate.

i thought this hobby was about trying to replicate the ocean ?? i guess around here ... i would be considered the tang police (i really dont care though) ... its all about the health and well being of your inhabitants, right ??
IMHO, NO tang should be kept in anything less than a 6' tank. im gonna take a beating with that statement, but thats ok. i prefer to research everything that goes in my tank to provide as close of a replication to its natural enviornment as possible. Tangs swim hundereds of mile every day in the wild and people say that it is ok to put them in a little bitty glass box ?? that doesnt sound like the "point" of the hobby to me.

I find these threads amusing. People putting size limits on tanks of Animals who's home is the ocean. 6 foot minimum for a tank when a Tang can swim 30 miles in a day. Makes sense

People ask even though they know they are going to get negative feedback. I dont get it. Than they get all uptight about it after they get the responses they knew were going to come. Honestly, people who don't have a single care about the animals they bring home give a black-eye to the hobby. You do your research and you find that the people who actually know what they are talking about say don't do it. So what do you do? You do it anyway. Why even bother asking to begin with if you know the answer?
This is why in the thread about where this hobby may end up with regulations and such with Snorkel Bob preaching his views, I said I would perfectly okay with licensing and processing to make stuff like this more difficult to happen. Large tangs should not be brought in to the hobby, nevermind things like sharks. Just because people need to flaunt there ego of "look how big and mean my fish are" there are too many lives lost due to ignorance.

Small fish become big fish. Then what? Ban the collection of small fish because they will one day get big? That's how current politicians think about things. Because it might happen one day and we need to make a law to prevent that.
