Tang opinions

Hey all, doing research for my stock for my 125 six foot that I just lost due to power issues. NOTE JUST INFO WILL FIX MY PIWER ISSUES BEFORE I PUT ANY FISH IN. I have a purple tang HLLE rescue on hold at my LFS. I have a powder blue in my QT tank. I fell in love with a Lieutenant tang. I was wondering about a caribbean blue tang to add to the mix. They seem pretty rare but are beautiful. Anyone have any experiences with this? Will be adding tangs together to minimize aggression.

Atlantic Blue tangs aren’t particularly mean/nasty … but are hardy and get a lil large , hardly rare tho (why do you say that?)… my favorite tang

In my 125 yes with the power failure. Got the tank back up and running and I figured the best thing instead of just crying and staring at my empty tank would be to start planning and get back on the horse

Ive never seen one and never seen an online vendor carry them! So I assumed they were rare

Would the four listed be compatible? I know purples can be kind of a butthole, I had one that I just lost, but he was my favorite tang. As with powder blues, she is 2 inches so I could get the other tangs bigger than her to help cub her nastiness if she choses to be nasty to other fish

Try KP Aquatics, get on their in-stock list…they show up regularly
My opinion on powder blues is they are more prone to being butheads and catching ich … I personally a avoid them and powder browns but …

Yeah I did a lot of research before getting her and decided I was up for a challenge. Then my whole tank lost power and crashed killing all my livestock friday night. Horrible to wake up to. She was the last edition to my tang gang but now I have to start over so is what it is

The atlantic blues are really cool! i've always admired them and would love to take one through the color change.

i don't know why they don't enjoy the same popularity as pacific blues

I discovered a doctorfish tang and was enamored with the color! The caribbean blue looks similar but brighter I think and its super pretty! Also dont get as big as the doctorfish

They are a fish you have to 'ask' for. They roam the south east coast and caribbean. Easy to get.

Also been warned the doctorfish can be nasty when I asked other reefers here! So I ran across the caribbean blue!

Yeah I posted how horrible it all was and expressed the thought crossed my mind but so many on here made me re think because if how much I love my fish. My boyfriend wont let me quit either, and I realized that I live my fish and still have my 70 gallon with my lionfish and others to care for, so might as well re start on my bigger tank and look for some different and not too common fish!

I don't have any personal experience from Atlantic Blue Tangs, but I would definitely get one if I had room! The change they go through is fascinating! Right now, LiveAquaria has them in stock. I've also seen them at Saltwaterfish.com

But …. They all won’t fit in your 125

Might have to convince your boyfriend to agree with an upgrade .

That being said .
Each individual tang are great but once they’re all in together I dont think it will end well .

The powder blue and purple are pretty mean …..
And will refuse to play well with others

And thank you I appreciate the input and I always have to remember that I cant rescue them all and be an animal hoarder cause thats no life for them! You will find the purple or the pbt to be the biggest a holes of all fish .
