Tang trouble

It looks like some maybe bigger than others..
question.. @Humblefish article states to dose metro after the reef rally bath. I don't do this with copper correct
Correct. After the rally bath skip the Metro and start raising copper levels.

I know it goes against what we typically advise but if you start seeing larger spots develop or you see new spots forming or getting worse 3 days after reaching therapeutic copper levels I would discontinue copper and switch to Metroplex, Kanaplex, and Furan 2.

Ok.. so by Thursday I would see that?

With this in mind, you could take the "treat only fish showing symptoms" approach. Currently it's just the clownfish, correct?

So now what to do with the boyfriend whom has a crappy attitude because it's his tank.. mind you when I lost my tangs and anthias and stuff right before I got my 100 long.. it was "it's ok, they are fish... we can get more.." now that his fish or sick.. it's whatever I will keep coral or make it a predator tank.. I'm like nope.. you have fish that are sick. In which we will do what we can to make them well again.. maybe he needs a dip in copper

Yes but wouldn't you think it's velvet with how fast the tang left us and how the clowns are spotting?

That sounds reasonable. Or try to post pictures to help us try and evaluate the spots more clearly. I'm not convinced it isn't Velvet, but I think I see some spots significantly larger than others in your first post. Since you use good QT practices I wouldn't expect you to have both Ich and Velvet show up at the same time.

I do very well with my qt.. but nothing has been added.. the qt is in a separate room

Remind him how lucky he is to have you for a girlfriend and that he should appreciate your desire to help him and his fish! ;)

That is why I would treat it as velvet but watch for indicators. Odds are that if it isn't clearing up within 3 days of reaching the proper copper levels then it isn't velvet. Treat for the worst case, and hope for the best!

+1 Take pics of the clownfish once they are in QT. Perhaps this mystery will unravel and things will become more clear after a few days in QT.

Will do.. sorry but I had to do one by one in 5 min fw and all in the reef rally.. I had to take All my rock and coral out and place in a Rubbermaid tote and there is no way the coral would have lasted in totes all night.. just caught the last one. Of course the 6 line lighting wrasse. He actually took to the overflow to get away and that's how I caught him.. now for the countdown and then into qt. I'm sure everyone will be sleeping by the time I get them all to qt. I dozed the 20 drops to 10 gallons like it states being that this could be most likely velvet. And in 48 hours I will dose again.. to bring it to Theraputic levels.. I don't have a seachem test but I have Salifert which I would rather have the seachem.. seeing as they are so greedy with the Powder.. I'm out. Lol.. I will keep everyone updated.. thanks again for all of yalls help:) much much appreciated..

Sorry you are having to go through this again. :(
