This is brilliant! Honestly this is what I love about this group. Being able to learn and get ideas from others which can save us countless hours of searching and frustration!

I hope they TIP WELL for you being their personal concierge waiter

It would seem we put more effort into taking care of our fish than we do ouselves. I have often stood in front of my tank for over an hour with a dropper of food making sure everyone eats (primarily for new inhabitants). It's a stretch if I spend five minutes making a bagel with cheese for myself! Haha.

I use it and is great, no waste.

Your a giver.... ;Nurse

Get rid of clip and get a grazer type holder or grind into food. Tangs love hitting the Swiss cheese holes filled with nori

Just blend up your nori with the rest of your food and toss it in the tank. Ill never understand the nori clip thing. That was genius marketting on the level of the guy who came up with bottled water.
I do this as well when I blend up my fish food. But I also feed them half a sheet a day, they aggressively eat it up so I'll keep it up

I just drop pieces i rip apart on top of the water. Most gets eaten within 5 mins. The rest gets stuck in the overflow box teeth, which sometimes they get, sometimes they dont.

The trader clip is what I use also. No mess and super easy to use. Have had mine for several years. I am thinking of getting another. My little regal angel feels a bit intimidated by the others and misses out.

I fold in half and tear over and over again until it is about the 1x.5 inches. Then I clip it into the tank. Don't seem to have a problem with that method.

I roll mine up like sushi with left over tank top netting then fold it once and clip the open ends to seaweed clip.

No matter what size I cut down the nori sheets, how I fold them, roll them into a veggie clip.... my tangs always eat at the base where the nori is in the clip.

Once they eat thru the nori sheet at its base, it detaches and floats away in a 1x1inch square or 2x2 or whatever. Forever forgotten by them.

I think they look at each other saying, "Daaaaah, where did all the nori go?"

That discarded piece floats and eventually gets clogged at the overflow inlet and is left uneaten to rot away ....or until i find it and I have to scoop out the nori glob. Nasty soggy crap.

IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO FEED 2X2 OR 3X3 INCH NORI SQUARES?

I've just about had it with this hobby bc I cant even squeeze out a 5% victory over anything. ANYTHING! Everything is a GD struggle. if i weren't thousands and thousands of dollars into it, I'd turn the temp up to 120° and then drop lit m80s into the water column... and enjoy the Hot Flying Tang Show

I have the aqua grazer but they were having problems getting the food out and alot was being wasted, stuck under the grid. I cut the grid out of the middle. I put the strips lengthwise and they're still secured all around the perimeter. You could even slice the sheets down the middle so they tear evenly. End result they have only about a mouthful that they can tear off from anywhere and there's less wasted.

This works great. I can put 2-3 sheets in it. Half size. my tangs, foxface and others havae no trouble cleaning it all gone. Excep at the very outlining edges. Middle all gone

I would stay away from those, mine rusted really quickly and the owner of my LFS stopped selling them since he had a lot of customers with the same experience.
Try the feeding pouch from two little fishies, it has the added benefit of that the pouch ca swivel and when you detach the dry side the wet side floats to the surface.

Hmm... My tang gang is like piranha's with Nori. I put probably a 3" by 5" sheet in my tank, and just float it on the top. The tangs immediately pull it off the surface of the water and tear it apart like a pack of wolves. I don't bother with a clip because it wouldn't last 3 seconds in a clip, so it would be a waste of effort to even try. Sometimes the Nori sheet will get sucked onto a power head, and it's funny watching them swim intently against the current to get at that piece of Nori. Nothing will stop them.

Sorry to hear yours aren't more voracious with the Nori.
This made me laugh because mine are the same way. Its like they know its coming too, just circling and waiting to devour. Best to keep the fingers out of the way, haha :)

Hi everyone. I pre-soak the Nori in a bit of tank water and then rub it between my fingers as I put it in, breaking it up into small pieces that circulate through the tank.
This way everyone gets some. My tangs would otherwise be like Piranha at a school barbecue, no one else would get any!

Mine left it alone so long in the grazer that it turned to gunk.

Same, but fish are suckers for a sushi roll. After rolling LRS into the nori a few times, my fish graze from the IM feeder happily.

Had that feelings many a time in my 11 months in the hobby. Being in the Untied Kingdom we seem to pay top $ (£) as a lot of items come from Canada. Like you i had the Nori issue. I only have one Blue Tang but he is addicted to Ocean Flakes, so he gets fed. I still have a sealed packet of Nori which none of the tank mates are interested in. This morning I woke up to the mess made by Pistol shrimp (worse buy ever) he had dug trenches that corals had dropped down in to and it took a long time getting the floor looking back to normal. But it stressed out the fish for a few hours. This hobby seems to be dealing me crap cards all the time. I get over one issue and the next comes along. Again like you I have a lot of money invested in the tank many thousands of £ ....do not get wrong I like the tank just all the issues. I wanted a living reef and it is getting there slowly. But from Tangs that do not eat Nori to Copper Band that will only eat frozen mess shrimps - thankfully the other 8 eat what ever is going. At the m moment I am trying to stop over feeding them as that is causing me tank issues. So you are not alone in the way you feel.
