Tank 4, Maggie's Eel build

Also, the little clam that could. Somehow climbing up the glass this morning. It's tiny. I thought it might be a new type of baby snail, I was surprised to see it was a clam of some sort.

So I've got this weird creature I've been trying to ID. It casts a feeding net/strand similar to vermetid snails, but this creature is all soft body.

I did find a thread on here a while ago, the description from OP was excellent, and he eventually got a great picture, but the ID given doesn't bring up what I'm seeing when I Google it. Does anyone know of a resource where I can try to research this further?

Here's the thread I found:

I've had this diy lid (redsea kit) for a while now, just got around to cutting the pieces. I don't like working with metal. I used the hubs metal chop saw, which cuts it fast and straight, but it leaves all sorts of edges and things to grind off. Then there's the metal glitter dust all over me. Not a fan. So after several hours last night and this morning, I'm done cutting all the pieces and finishing the edges. Frame done. Next is the netting. Good thing they included so much because I'm probably going to suck at this part.

back to the stringy thing, follow main line to source ,with segmented strings coming off main string
sounds like it is going to be a pink blob that it is starting from ?

Yes! That's exactly what it's like. I've been removing some that I see with an airline tubing and it'll reattach to the container and look like a jelly blob. Pinkish/tan.

not sure name, but common harmless pest, i try to scrape and remove all of base... ;) :)

I really tried to find out what it was, kinda found something on a past thread years ago, but the id name when I googled didn't sound right.

Either way, they do detach easily enough and you can spot them from thier webs so I've just been removing what I see. The ocean is a wild place, so many critters.
