Tank bullies- now what?

Almost evicted. But moved to a tank with double the volume. Now just an occasional problem child. Before was quite the terror. This guy…..

My trigger was a bully and messed my tank up all the time. I tried to catch but to no avail. One day I was using my net to get my algae scrubber that fell to the bottom of the tank and the trigger was being a little tough guy and came at the net, I just scooped him up, he kinda caught himself. Now he lives in my second tank tell he gets to big.

Biggest problem is catching them lol... Water splashing all over the place and will have to re-aquascape tank again smh

Only fish I ever had to remove was a twospot bristletooth about 5 years ago. She was relentless when I added my potters leopard wrasse. Thank God that fish was as healthy as it was, and even though it kept diving into the sand a dozen tines a day, it still kept coming out. I was able to catch the potters and put it into one of my other tanks and I still have her today fat and healthy. I finally had to remove just about all the rock to catch the bristletooth because she wouldn't let me add any other leopards. She went to another local reefer.

I add more rocks. I kept Cichlids for years and they are very territorial. Sometimes it just isn't going to work with Cichlids. Salt seems more forgiving but also sometimes its not going work. Sometimes I set up other tanks for refugees or trouble makers. I have two eels that get along fine. I add a third Snowflake and the other one hunts it relentlessly. I would love for them to get along. But at some point you have to worry about one getting sick or killed.

One trick that worked in the past for me was moving the rocks around a bit.

IF you have to catch a fish try after lights out. Even if you have to get up with an alarm @ 2 in the morning.
Fish do sleep & turning lights on lets you see, but the fish move slowly. I caught a purple tang after chasing it out of the rocks easily doing this.

+1 to the term "peaceful reef tank, predator tank next to it"

I have a 210g predator tank sitting right next to my 90g reef. If you are a s**t starter in the reef, you can go start some stuff in the fowlr and see where that gets you. But boasts and actual success rate of 4/5 for me so far. Only one railway goby didnt make it in the fowlr, Sarah the bamboo shark got him.

Dang, I guess I need to get rid of my two sailfin mollies then. I got them to peck at algae, and all the do is peck at the hairs on my arm constantly when im doing maintenance.

Yup. My molly who's eel food.. im still waiting for her to get eaten.
All she does is nip me even when i am feeding the tank.

I know my snowflake hasnt even tried to eat a fish, that darn thing is so picky about food its not even funny. Raw shrimp, turns its nose up, scallops? Sure, only if its the perfect size. But a silverside? Size doesnt matter. Octopus? Way to big to eat, done. Very irritating snowflake to feed.

My ribbon eel eats the same food as the rest of the fish, chopped clam, shrimp, basically random sea food mix with pellets to hold all of that together. Sometimes salmon strips or sliced shrimp. Silversides gets a nose turn.
Hopefully,all the vitamins and nutrition she needs is in the prepped food. I still worry.

I feed a diet much the same, Its just a pain to hand feed when its being so picky in a tank with 3 triggers and a bamboo shark. They are much quicker than the eel, and then the eel is picky on top of that? Great time all the while im getting water spit at me by the porcupine. Great times indeed.

I used to have a freshwater fish which was a bully. I put him in with my turtles. 3 hours the bully was no longer with us. Might not be the best advice, but yeah. That's what I used to do. Luckily I have not had a bully in my saltwater aquarium yet.
