Tank Cam----- Yay or Nay?

Do you own a Macbook? Hackers were accessing cameras on those at one point too...
Irrelevant, but no, I haven't own an Apple product since the IIC.

If you have an old/unused phone and are willing to do some simple setup, you can download an app and use that setup for free. The phone doesn’t need a cell plan just connect to your home router. I used to do this when traveling but have not in a few years. Quality was not great (very slow refresh) but enough to see the pumps were running, fish and corals alive, etc.

I understand how you're feeling.. I just set up a nano tank 2.5 months ago, added corals and cleanup crew and now I'm taking off for two weeks in May. I'm hoping the ATO and cleanup crew help to balance the tank.. but I think I'll need some sort of protein skimmer to help out. I'm not sure if it's wise to add a hearty fish to help the cycle but I'm really not sure ha. I have someone coming to check on my tanks but they will be just lightly feeding (I plan to portion all the food for each day). Any advice is welcome ha.

I set a 2k Kasa pointing at my tank and another at my qt/mixing station.
It paid for itself the other day when thanks to the camera I realized my automated rodi system failed and was constantly dumping water down the drain.

For me it was well worth the $40 for each camera for the piece of mind that nothing went wrong when I’m away from home.

Yup. It has saved my butt a few times when I am traveling for work or personal.

I vote Waze CamPan V2 even with the "drama". Security flaws are raiment with all tech. These cameras are cheap and fantastic especially when you have someone that may need some talking through something or is having trouble explaining something to you over the phone.
You can alway unplug it when you get home if you like. Posting on an open forum that you are leaving for vacation is far more dangerous from an exposure standpoint then someone maybe being able to hack into your camera that they might know that you have.

I use two of these but the first gen version.
