Tank Crash

this is why increasing fish prices are good, they shouldn't be this expendable. if keepers can't just replace marine animals like feeder goldfish some care and attention will accompany the new fish purchases.
Brandon,

I have no idea who would buy any of your products after the way you talk to people. This thread was a means of me coping with the loss of my aquatic pets. They meant a lot to me, I imagine yours do as well. I never anticipated this thread to turn into whatever this dumpster fire it is now. I sincerely hope you look at yourself and realize this is not how you treat people. Can we please end this conversation.

He never responds to ppl who call him out. Clearly the dude has some serious ego issues. Sorry for your thread getting trashed. Good luck with your tank.

Best of luck getting the tank fixed!! My wife's tank crashed when she went off to college but were in the process of starting up a new one right now. I always say everything happens for a reason and who knows? Maybe the new tank or if your tank gets fixed it'll look better than ever!

Just for my clarification,
What exactly is this strip and clean that he is always posting about?
Is it a cleaning process or an actual product that you can purchase?

it is a procedure called a rip clean

right there is about 500 of them

I don't sell anything

I don't make money from reefing, or the web, or a podcast, I have no cash in the game other than what reefing takes from me lol.

Rip cleaning is simply taking a tank apart and rinsing it out in the ways the pros said would kill a tank.

when you fully rinse out a reef, the core bacteria stick to the rocks and the invasion targets get washed down the drain

taking a tank apart and rinsing it out fully gets the results we see on file above. its controversial for these reasons:

-all reef pros said you can't rinse out a sandbed, the loss of bac would kill a reef. it doesn't, we can plainly see. reef pros get mad when you challenge them, they'll state on their podcasts that bad science abounds in reef forums without considering any actual patterns on file when the work is done.

-a rip clean circumvents the need for identification of invasion species and we don't need parameter testing at all. these are the wheelhouses for reef troubleshoots and to forego them implies risk to the masses, it angers reef pros to use methods they don't give us permission to use.

a rip clean is me convincing someone with a totally wrecked tank on the verge of total crash that we can save them using a simple and free method, found in their kitchen. no products are purchased, a rip clean is a method of simply cleaning out a reef that seems bad but is actually one of the best moves for any reef, the most refreshing and invigorating move we can do if the tank size allows it practically.

it's not possible to read a rip clean thread and come away thinking there was harm done. only not clicking the thread allows for that takeaway.

As a person with no skin in the game @brandon429 does come off as a little aggressive. I've never done the rip clean but have read and seen the results of the process and it works. He's not selling anything..matter of fact he advises against buying anything..just some elbow grease. Not a fan boy here so let's not go there anyone...just calling it what is it with an outside view. Hope the tank gets well no matter what avenue you choose!

Evan - I too am sorry for your losses. 3 years ago I had a catastrophic tank crack and failure. Thankfully I was home when it happened. I was able to transfer everything into tubs and donate all the live stock to the LFS. I saved them all, but it was hard to give them away. I feel for you.
