My blue had couple white spots (pimples) for a week and got very bad yesterday! I didn’t think they were ich because pimples were big. All my other fishies are doing great. He is in QT now. What looks like some bite marks and ich? Please help!!!

Sorry to see this. That's a pretty sick fish. Those guys are so prone to ich, you really need to be proactive in treating it as soon as it shows up. Good luck with it... hope it can recover.

It could be flukes. A fresh water dip for 5 minutes can help out.

this hippo was eating like pig right before I took him out from my DT.

any other fish i would say it was a goner but hippo tangs like to lay on their side when stressed or sleeping so it may just be stressed because of the move you can still save him

Looks like a very fine sheen across the eyes in the one pic. That's velvet. And bacterial infections are setting in too.

Emergency procedures for treating velvet

Do a freshwater dip as others advised above. Then into a bath of an acriflavine product like Ruby Reef Rally. This step greatly increases survival rates even on badly infected fish.

Then into CP or copper. CP is preferred as it goes directly to therpeutic. With copper dose half way to therapeutic levels. And then, using small doses spread out through the day to reach therapeutic with in 24 hours.

Bacterial infections need to be addressed as well. Spectrogram is preferred. But a mix of Kanaplex + Furan2 can substitute.

I think so too, I had to pull him out on his tail because he was in his cave. He breathing normal now.

I just looked and His eyes are cleared. It must be reflection or scratch on my glass.

RODI and make sure it is same temp and well oxygenated.

Do I use tab water or rodi?
RODI temp matched to the tank temp. Aerate for 20-30 minutes before the dip. Use a dark container it's easier to see the white little sesame seed sized bodies of flukes on the bottom of the container. At around the 3 minute mark the flukes will begin falling off if present. 5 minute max on the dip. It's normal for the fish to freak a bit at the beginning. But if it continues, end the dip. Best of luck! ;)
