Do I scrape the bacteria off of the glass

Is the bacteria making a slimy film that you may be able to net out? If it is, getting some out would be a good idea. You do not want to just stir it up if you can't get it out of the tank imo.

Rinse that thing out and get it ready with a clean pad.

I'm guessing the flow would just break it down and let it through the floss. Most bacteria would need a more gentle removal. And without water to change, vacuuming it out isn't an option right now.

I'd be very tempted if I didn't have anymore rodi water to go to supermarket and get some distilled and if u can't do that I would use tap. I would get 100% water change in in the next 24 hours.

You really don't need the extra filtration as much as the extra oxygen

Add some more floss if possible. Even if there isn't a micron alternative available at least it'll catch something.

I second that idea. Distilled is about a buck a gallon.

The thing with our tapwater is it's got a Ton of copper in it and it Sunday night on the Northeast and there's not gonna be anything open definitely not Amy is going to have 50 or 100 gallons of water

Now that he has removed the source of the carbon causing the bacteria bloom, do you really think there is value in doing a 100% water change? I've normally seen people advise against doing water changes to deal with bacteria issues.

You can run a tube through a filter sock and get water flowing, then scrape and suction to try to remove as much as possible while returning water to the tank. Place filter sock with floss in sump and keep changing it out as it gets dirty. This may be one long night. I feel your pain.
