I mean should I be ok to turn up the heater from 65 to inbetween 65-72?

Live Aquaria suggests 72-78° F for ocellaris clowns. But I know plenty of people run their tanks 79-80° F. I target 78 so mine fluctuates between ~77-79° F.

My inkbird is set to 78 and my heater is set to 79. In case either has a failure in the on position, you're covered. And from what I have heard a failure in the off position is much less likely and less common. At least with the jager heaters. Not sure about the other types.

I’m using the ink bird as well. It’s set to turn the heater on at 77. And the fan on at 79. Heater is set to 78. Once the temp hits 78, the ink bird will kill the power to the heater.

While you're thinking about temperature you could also get a few different thermometers and average the results to get as close to a true temperature reading as possible.

/and you can then calibrate the inkbird.

My inkbird has a target temp (78° for me) and an allowable variance (1°, The lowest it will go).

I don't use moonlights atm so Idk but I think people leave them on all night. Not sure.

I keep my tank around 76 because during day it will climb to around 77 or 78 or 79. So I aim at night for 76. Come winter I might set for 77

I ha e unplugged the heater for the night, and am going to wait and see what the temp is in the morning. If the temp is a lot lower. I was thinking about get the cobalt neo-therm heater ? It looks pretty good? I’m really new and don’t understand a lot, but I learn fast. Thank you for your help. Any ideas on a good heater?

My favorite so far that has lasted more than 6 months (going on 18months) is the eheim heater. Much easier to set it for the correct temp. Word of advice: Always keep an extra heater just in case. I have 2 in my 125g. One set lower than the other so if one dies on me, I have backup so the temp doesn't drop too much. Gets too cold during the winter months to take a chance.

The redness is right where the fish's vertebrae should be. It's been awhile since I've owned an Ocellaris, but I don't remember it being red there.

Yeah. I have 4 and that’s the biggest of the clowns and the other are fine.
