Hello everyone,

I purchased an Aquaforest Oceanguard 790 in July and got it set up with livestock recently. When I first placed the tank in the room, I noticed one corner of the floor was slightly out of level due to a slight bump in the concrete/tile. I leveled the tank when I first received it by adjusting the legs on the bottom of the stand. Once it seemed level, I added the water and started cycling. I recently added livestock and wanted to double check my level on the tank again (nothing stuck out to me), and I noticed one side of the glass is level, but the other two were not. So I decided to shim the other side slightly with composite shims (we're talking 1/16 in). Once I did this, the front/left side were leveled, but the right side of the tank went slightly out of level again, but matches the contour of the ground. Pictures attached. Would you be worried about one corner of the tank being out of level this much? First picture is the left side of tank, then center of tank, and the right side of tank, last picture is the ground adjacent to the right side of the tank.

Thank you!

If the tank is slightly off level from left to right or from front to back, as long at its with in the lines, i wouldnt worry too much
But now...
If the tank is twisting, meaning...
In the coners, The bubble is going in a different direction, then i would be concerned because thats putting alot of stress in the bottom glass and can possibly crack.
Also, you dont want to be trying to level the tank when its filled up completly.
I would empty it out atleast half way and then make your adjustments.

If you’re questioning the bubble level the more accurate way to measure would be to measure from the top to the water line at the corners of the tank .

imo i would throw your level away for now..is the base supported well on a thick piece of plywood or similar..if it is it is unlikely the tank is twisted so i would imagine a 1/32 or 1/16 adjustmnet is not necessary...how does the level look in the tank, can you live with the slight out of level of the water line

Bubble is not quite centered. You will have to take water down and save it and get 1-2 persons to gently lift and kick some shims underneath. My Large tank is on plywood base for this reason.

Usually, if you can make sure that all 4 coners of the tank and resting on the stand when its empty then you should be ok

My reffer tank is on plywood as well, way easier to level it out like that

This is a vague way to explain " twisting"
Think of the envelope being the bottom glass of the tank...
Does it make sense?

IMO Such a pain cutting straight and out of sight
I’ve taken hardwood 4x4 and cut thin shims with a chop saw . Stacking multiple shims on top of each other to get the desired height .

100%
Glass being neither a solid if liquid with the weight and force of the water inside . Out of level is only asking for a disaster eventually

Correct...Wood Shims.

if you are going to shim it i would be using laminex...what they use to cover kitcken bench tops, ask your local kitchen maker for some off cuts/scraps. ...sounds like you only need a small adjustment

Awesome demo. Thank you. I did check my water level with a tape measure, and all 4 corners match, however when I use the level, it seems two sides are out of level slightly. Could something be wrong with my tank? Thank you
