Tanked phone booth on ebay already.

Ouch looks like the couple divorced or something.

Q: Can you tell me why this is being sold? Any defects?
A: Tank is for sale do to financial and personal issues and the customer would not be selling if not for this reason. The aquarium and all equipment is like new and in perfect working order.

Gives you a sense of the life support systems that the TV Show leaves out... Chiller, Skimmer, Media, etc.

Anyhow, I do believe they were divorced. I seem to remember reading it somewhere.

I hope it's not the fish's fault.

They're probably all dead, right after the first day, I guarantee it.

How so? Looks up to par to me.

awesome tank, but if your show is about theming. at least be original.

Another person asked about fish, and the guy said that if they use the buy it now option, they get $500 in store credit for fish, so I think that they died.
$500 in store credit, could also mean they "gave" them to the LFS..

Anyhow, since the original stocking, there's likely a number of deaths.

I hope you're joking lol, you're looking at a sump that barely manages a nano tank and a skimmer that is only enough to skim your toilet.
The Phone Booth tank itself, is at least 180g. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sucks to hear that all those fishes died, probably a huge Ich Infestation.

For all we know, they're running Tap water in that display tank.

Funny thing is, I remember watching this episode and it was the first one I watched! Probably last too.

How do you know that? What makes you an expert?

The filtration on that thing is a joke!

It looks actually above average, large pumps, large chiller, skimmer, bio balls with dls, and I'm sure there's more.

What's your sump look like? Can I make fun of it; or should I only do it when you get a tv show?

While you guys are here posting all your negative comments, you could be reading the new to the hobby forum and helping people out rather than criticizing a R2R sponsor.

No I am serious. The sump looks to be around 40-50 gallon range while the skimmer looks to be about the same area size wise as a asm g3. These are of course guess-timates. This also isn't counting the chiller and so on.

With a reply such as yours it makes me wonder in how much you know about the hobby.

On a 200g display I say thats plenty. I run 60g of filtration tank size and a asm g3 skimmer on a 180g display, so I must be as mis-informed as these guys at atm. Give me a break

Everything looks legit to me for a 200 gallon fish only tank. I know a lot of people do not like the show for their own reasons but I do. Its meant for entertainment, its not meant as a "how to" type of show. People have said that this show misinforms those that want to start a new tank. Hopefully the newbies do a little more research than watching a weekly TV show. Lets be realistic, if everyone relied on TV shows for education and knowledge to become an expert then I would be a mechanic, surgeon, chopper fabricator, crab fisherman, survival expert, gold miner and the list goes on and on...

I would say that the sale of the tank has nothing to do with how it was built or installed. I realize the the episode just aired a couple weeks ago but the tank could have been installed a year ago. Its not like these guys make the show and it airs the following week...

That's a Top Fathom skimmer, more than sufficient for the system.

Gotta love how a thread gets started about a custom tank for sale and people deduce from that that all the fish must have died...

All I have to say is I thought reef2reef people
Were better than low enough to be so degrading sorry but a lot of these comments I feel
Belong on other sites that like to bash!!!

Agree with Paul and reef, the ppl who are bashing just showed how truly ignorant they are to the hobby.

And from the 60's lol

The ship tank they did had a top-mounted Lifegard/Pentair modular also very ancient...

The Jukebox had a Fluval.

My point is at MACNA they claimed to have some proprietary filtration they would be rolling out soon. I was under the impression it would be something.... Well not prehistoric! Lol

I've seen successful reefs being kept to this day using these ancient pieces of equipment lol ;)
