I know there has been a lot of discussion on Components 1+ 2+ and 3+ but what is a good starting dose for a 25g Mixed reef? The containers say 50ml/day but that is quite a bit. Any recommendations?

You need to play with the dose to figure out at which dose they are holding all major parameters steady. It will depend on your tanks requirement.

I would start with 20ml of 1+3+ and 15 on the 2+ and then play with the dosage up or down.

Ok since I am not feeling like doing math today and dont wanna mess up my order. Can someone please break it down for me what to order and what website would be the best to order it from. Also apox how long will it last. Id prefer it to be six months.
It will be a brand new set up with about 250-300 gallons on water.
I'm sorry I'm just really tired today and don't feel like reading every post again.
Thx in advanced
Justin

What are you wanting to get? Can I add a new car when you order?
Saltysupply.com you get points when you order, and they are the distributor for AF

Fresh start for 300 gallon total volume tank. I have two clowns a bi color blenny and a Kole tang that will go in after the cycle along with these corals a red dragon ,red planet ,cauliflower, hammer , jack o lantern, two plate corals, and three different types of acans. So I would need salt and the a b c stuff for about six months. And after I get my new car I will think about getting u one

Salt supply.com is that the website ur talking about or aqua forest website?

A couple of quick questions. Should i continue to do daily automated water changes with this system? Refugiums advised or nah?

@Matthias7 from what I understand u do not need a fuge because u are controlling the nitrates and phosphates by chemicals. Now u can do one but if u dose their reducers it's just going to kill the algea in the fuge anyway. But with this method it's up to u how u want to do it there is no right or wrong way. So try it out and let everyone know how it goes. Now with the daily water changes I was thinking the same thing but I do not know the answer to it but I would think it's the same thing.

In my 120 gallon acro dominated reef, I am using 1 cup Phosphate Minus, and 1.5 cup AF Carbon. I will be adding another 1/4 cup of Phosphate Minus, as I have recently seen an increase in PO4. In the same reactor I am also using 2.5 cups of AF Zeo Mix. Cheers :)

Im confused guys.. i just started with the AF system but im still running my fuge with live sand, rock and cheato in it. I also run two phosban 150's one with GFO and one with carbon. Should i be looking to take the fuge out and switching to the phos-, carbon and zeo mix only?

I was running a fuge when I first started the AF system. Then when I switched from the eshopps R100 3rd gen. To my new Trigger systems Sapphire 34, I have it with 1 - 4" block of marine pure in the fuge area and 1 - 1" block under my protein skimmer. Also about to put a small frag setup in the fuge area. I don't know if it will work great, but it looks a lot cleaner now. From other people that I talk with or know that are using a fuge on the AF system it is working fine. Since there are low nutrients that the microalgae may not grow much if at all. I don't feed much bc I only have 6 fish in my 75g tank. It is different from tank to tank.

Another question haha I am not a super experienced reefer nor am I completely new but should I run zeo mix or just go without? I already bought it but I don't want to accidentally mess up my tank using it. Also I did a tank transfer and I am experiencing a bad bacterial bloom. Should I keep dosing bio s or stop until it clears up?

Ok so I'm running thru the numbers. To even set up my tank I'm going to need two 25kg of salt. And the 5 liters of component 1,2,3 will only last me 11 days. For easy math purposes I estimated my system to be at 243 gallons (9x27) so for the first month I'm looking at 300 for just those two items. is this right or am I missing something?

You are able to buy powdered versions of 1,2,3 and make your own for cheaper. Made for those with larger tanks.

You'll need the following-

Calcium dry
Mag dry
Kh buffer dry
Mineral salt
And components strong
M

Update with concerns.. i started with the reef salt last Friday and dose the coral A, coral V, AF build, AF energy.. all as directions one drop to 27gal every other day. I also use the fish V, phyto mix and coral food as directed. I set up a schedule to dose at night but i dont add every thing i only do a couple each night and then alternate.
So my problem is i seam to be building algy, looks like diatoms. Should i just feed the tank every other day until this all works out?
