That is a very cool tank. Circles are awesome. Once those corals color up you will be a very happy person.

You will be happy with the AF, I started with the 1+2+3+ and the tank started look better after two weeks. Just fine tuned my dosing after adding a sump and I am now doing water change every 15 days and thinking of going to monthly. My growth is also doing very well. Let us know how it is going in a couple of weeks
Thus far I am very happy with the changes Comp 123 has made over the course of the last couple weeks. Between that and changing to monthly water changes (10% total water volume) I feel that my tank is happier than ever.

Now only if my son hadn't tried feeding the fish without me watching two days ago... [emoji29]

Thanks! One very strange thing about half cylinders is how they magnify everything in the tank, and how distorted everything is inside the tank, in terms of placement. If you look at my sea Swirl or pump hanger outside the tank, versus inside the tank, it becomes very apparent! [emoji15]

There was a thread here about a month ago with members discussing that very issue with pictures. I was rolling on the floor. The member who started the thread woke up and found that his daughter decided that she want to put things in the tank.

What's funny about my tank is that the stand plus tank is almost six feet tall. My 5yo son (Who asked to be responsible for feeding the fish at night and I said yes) had to find a chair, drag it over loudly, grab the food, open it, and feed them... All while I was tight by him lost in coral thought most likely. [emoji13]

Hi ok I've asked the same question in the forum "Aquaforest users: let's see them corals" the reason I'm asking here now is
1. Might get more replies
2. Better understanding
3. Because I'm following both threads [emoji1].

I'm also new and want to be using AF products. But not before I know what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. Just wanted to know couldnt us new users just switch over to either A,B,C or 1,2,3? Which are the same thing if I'm write to say? One is used with a doser & the other is a premix you measure and add depending on water quantity. What are the reason for use of bio s, bio pro s, np pro, E,B before you start using their componants. Sorry if this has been answered but I can't alway read all replies.

You can start using their component right away if your system need it. The other stuff is to establish the probiotic system in your aquarium.

So if you have a established system you won't need all the other stuff I mentioned (np pro, bioS, bio pro S etc)Just start using the AF componants 1+,2+,3+ and if I wanted to add any other AF product such as AF amino! So in this case it's fairly straight forward if I'm right to say? Just dose (using a doser) with componants 1+,2+,3+ And I should see results within 4-8 weeks? It's just all the AF this and that, got me confused. Hopefully this will clear it out and I can place my order. Oh by the way I'm asking about 90% dominate SPS tank!

So if I just want to switch over to them, what would I need? Tank already set up and running

The basis of AF is probiotic based ultra low nutrient system its not just another balling method. So you will need at least those probiotics to achieve ULNS. The component 123 is part of the programme but heart of the programme are the probiotics.

[emoji1360] got you. So probiotics are a starting point! Then the componants kick in. I just want to be sure of how to do this correctly rather then wasting time and money. Also another question sorry for being dumb, with the probiotic is that an on going process or just at the beginning?

Another thing if your nutrients are in order what would be the reason to use the probiotic products, because that is what they do, Lower nutritions! And then add the componants!

Its continuous process and dosing everyday...one more thing dont dose components if you dont need.

To keep it low steadily all the time and maintain a healthy probiotic pool.

Perfect that's what I needed to know makes sense. Probiotics to lower and keep in check, after test, then us componants

Component A,B,C is basically all other parameters that isn't Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium.

Component 123+ is a complete dosing regimen that includes all of Component A,B,C AND Alkalinity, Calcium, and Magnesium.

If you were already doing two part (That only included Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium) then you would probably start with Component ABC. If you decided you don't want to use 5 dosers for this, and want a complete parameter dosing system, then you'd use Component 123+.

As for Bio S, Bio S Pro, and NP Pro:

These are not parameter dosing.. this is a carbon dosing system (Bacterial System).

You'd start with Bio S (Especially if you're just starting Carbon dosing, or maybe if you're switching over to AF from a previous carbon dosing system). Remember Bio S and Pro Bio S is the bacteria. Eventually, you'll move to using Pro Bio S, and you'd stick to using this for the rest of the time. NP Pro is simply the medium to sustain the bacteria you're dosing to the system.

The Probiotic Salt: This is just their Reef Salt with bacteria, Amino Acids and Vitamins. It does not replace using their carbon system (BiobS, Pro Bio S, and NP Pro). Think if it as boosting their current carbon system. It's specifically used with much more ulns reef keeping in mind.

As an example, I have a mixed reef. I do not need more waste export than just the carbon system plus my own filtering (Skimmer, GAC, and GFO). If I were to go full SPS, and house far more coral than I do now, I would then consider switching salts, remembering that it does contain Amino Acids and Vitamins (Of which I do not yet dose). If I were already dosing that separately, I would consider the stuff in the salt extra, nothing more.
