No you don't need the mineral salts (these are just used if you are using the balling method). If you want to match what is being dosed in 1+2+3+ then you can dose Component ABC+Kalium.

The mineral salts is basically your elements, and if you have your color in your corals then no, if you are looking color up your corals and want to dose the element then yes

Colors are nowhere near what they should be. I just ordered everything in the guide based on my tank corals. Lps with less demanding sps and I'm using the reef salt (not probiotic) I didn't get anything on the CA,MG,KH line cause of the calcium reactor. Just not sure what the ABC and Kalium is? So is the mineral salts better or component abc and kalium?

Hello,
Component ABC + Kalium is an option designed for trace mineral dosing. You would use this method to keep a healthy balance of around 40 different trace elements that deplete fractionally to that of your main minerals. As you have a method to use for main minerals, Alk, Ca, and Mg with use of your Calcium Reactor, this would be a way to handle all trace in a 3 part + Kalium solution. If you would prefer to target dose trace minerals, that too is an option with AF. Component 123 is essentially a mineral + trace mineral dosing method similar to balling method, this is why Reef Mineral Salt is used, as it is simply a balling salt. I hope that clarifies things :) Cheers

I made a boo boo, I was starting to get some hair algae and without even realizing it I did 2 25 gallon water changes 3 days apart with the probiotic salt, instead of the reef salt. Forgot that the probiotic salt had aminos and vitamins in it. So hair algae got worse. I just did a 25G water change with reef salt last night. I haven't dosed the AF aminos or Vitality in a week. Should I be dosing NP Pro and Pro Bio S still or wait until the GHA goes away?

Pro Bio S and NP Pro should be fine...actually they will lower the nutrient levels.

Yes, I would keep dosing the PBS and NP Pro. I would also reach in the tank and pull out as much of the hair algae as you can. By removing large amounts you speed up the process and also entice the tangs to eat what is left. They will not eat if there are large chunks but if there are just strands or little patches there is a better chance of the tangs eating it. I have a tomini tang that I bought off Perry that eats bryopsis. :)

I have been trying to get as much out by hand as I can. I just gave my LFS my desjardinii sailfin. He was about 6 inches, so was getting a little too big for my tank and they are going to find me a small Purple tang.

@Aquaforest . My orders of aquaforest products are on the way and will be starting to use them soon.
I have a question that may already have been answered.
My question is: If I am already dosing components A, B and C weekly, will It still need everyday dosing of microelements like strontium? Since strontium is already present in component A, same as with Iodine and flourine which are also present in component C.
hoping you'll be able to answer my question. Thank you.

Hello, This is the middle chamber of sump, has good water flow running throughout. As you can see, it sits in a strainer basket, passive in sump:)

So is the idea of Life Bio Fil is that it works to aid in Nitrification primarily? It doesn't replace Siporax, Np Pro, and Pro bio S in the denitrification process right?

Simply a media that has high porosity, this give bacteria many places to grow, like siporax or matrix, but comes already loaded with bacteria, so there is little to no seed time for bacteria colonization. To use with Pro Bio S, NP Pro and aids in the denitrification process. Zeo Mix is what mainly allows for the break down of the nitrification process. I am using with already established siporax in my system. Cheers

The only thing needed along side of ABC is Kalium, as it is not present in the 3 part trace dosing system. Cheers

Great!!!! Thanks for the info. Glad I ordered the kalium together with A, B and C

Also going to pick up an ORA Pearlberry, Tyree Pink Lemonade, and a Pro Corals Rainbow from Top Shelf this week. Fiancée is letting me splurge a little ;). I will post the pictures when I get them. Hope y'all had a great weekend. Also @Perry saw the tank pictures you posted, it is looking awesome!
