Ok so here's my plan, I want to start off using pro biotic salt just for the startups. Then switch to the normal reef salt. If I understand correctly I would dose the np pro and bio s I should be able to keep nutrients low, as far as the components 1 2 amd 3 what do I need to know about it

Use probiotic salt only if you run a SPS dominated system . Start with Bio S and NP pro and then shift to Pro bio S and NP pro after 2 weeks.

when using the NP Pro and bio s, it will take two week to establish bactria levels to start working.
1+ is Ca Mg and component A,B for color 3+ in Alk plus component C and 3+ is your minerals and potassium. You will dose all three in equal amount at the start and make adjustment as you go. I dose 1+3+ the same when I make my changes

Thank you, I missed switching to Pro Bio S after two weeks:)

Unfortunately I don't have 2 weeks to wait also...sudden move amd have to move inhabitants to the new tank....luckily I have had rock curing the last 6 months amd a small tank that's cycled

Reefing is patients two weeks can be a day in our life.

:) sometime life happen :)
Yeah so I only have so much time....I have an ammonia badge on the way too. So I'll be buying multiple live bacteria, have all live rock, and I have prime in case I have a small spike

Sound like a plan, good luck

So I have been doing some reading of this thread (definitely not the full thread as it is lonnnngggg) and other threads. After talking with a guy at a LFS that I sometimes go to, I think I am going to switch to AquaForest products.

I have about 170 gallons of total water in my system.

I am currently using Red Sea blue bucket salt and BRS two part calcium and ALK.

I was going to switch to the AF salt and the component 1+2+3+ system to start with.

My tank is currently LPS, anemone, and softie heavy but want to start adding some SPS to have a nice mixed reef. I also have 16 fish currently in the tank.

I currently run BRS Rox .8 carbon and Phosguard in reactors. I also have a large MarinePure block in my sump. I ordered a UV sterilizer that I will be hooking up this week.

I tested my parameters tonight, calcium was 410, alk 8.4, mag 1300, nitrate 0, and phosphate 0.

Does anyone have any advice on the best way to switch? Also based on my parameters and livestock mix what would be the best product mix to start with?

For 240 gallon is it 8-10 drops? Also could you get away with every other day or does it have to be daily . And is it the 50ml bottle that last 2months

Since you have your nutrients under control I would start like u plan reef salt and components 123+ when you start adding SPS u can switch to probiotic salt and dose Af a b e v and coral food
