Yes sure you can use Aquaforest products using calcium reactor.
Additives depends of your ca reactor fill.

Super curious.... I've seen some beautiful Aquaforest tanks. I've read all through the AF guide. Are there people running aquaforest products without water changes? They recommend 10% weekly. But if you are supplementing trace elements and keeping nutrients low, I don't see the need. Is anyone going without water changes? This would be a huge plus. I have no issues with nutrient control, if that is the only reason for the water changes.

These tanks are amazing....just curoius...u see all these tanks with algae or some sort of nuisance thing but af pics show little if any algae at all....what's the secret? Lol

The acros are being fueled with targeted foods, vitamins, aminos, as well as balanced main mineral and trace minerals through balling, likely case on all these tanks, that or use of other AF products. The corals are using more of the available nutrients and likely most algaes are being out competed. One thing I find is these type users have full commitment of maintenance, testing, and almost OCD approach to reef keeping. It is not always the products, albeit they do a wonderful job, but the sweat and work goes on behind the scenes

I agree there... just virtuous what their approach is on dinos...I don't have them but I did..

It is recommended to do weekly 10% water changes, but, let's face it, if you are controlling nutrients, and balancing minerals and trace minerals, draw your own conclusions...

Earlier I used to do weekly...then tried once every month and now biweekly. I didn't find any noticeable difference. The components make the system so balance that sometime my Alk don't even move at all for weeks. I did ICP after a month without water change and nothing was out of balance. But I am quite obsessive about the tank maintenance...lol

what would a reefer do with his spare time if he didn't do water changes?i've been addicted to af 1-2-3 for 4 months now and I will say my sps lps have never looked better or grown faster.if you are looking to switch to af 1-2-3 look at the video on how to mix your own on r2r.buy the ingredients make your own and save a lot of $$$$$$$$$.it's only about $75 for all the ingredients you need to make several 5000 ml (1,2 and 3 ea.) batches of component 1-2-3. at brs.

I still don't quite get the whole balancing thing....alk not move for a certain time frame? If it didn't moved then doesn't that mean your coral are not growing?
