As soon as it shows 1 ppm on the RO/DI meter I order new filters ...

As soon as it reads anything but 0 I change out the media.....probably overkill but it has become habit.

Lol that is way too long for me.......I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I was pumping 1 TDS water into my Brutes
I always have a spare set of filters and resin ready.

Not overkill, just smart... Why risk a diatom bloom for no reason? I do the same thing.

I have seen up to 5 ppm with no issues but I am like you, no way.Lol that is way too long for me.......I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I was pumping 1 TDS water into my Brutes

My unit has 2 meters on it so I know what is being pumped into it.

So you never test later on just the tank water? only your RODI water going in? I randomly test tank water from time to time.

Yeah, I don't think there would ever be a reason to check tank water, as long as you know you are adding pure water...... @Randy Holmes-Farley might be able to provide more insight though?

Everyone I know checks their tank water and I've seen Marc do it on Melev's reef youtube videos.

I've never heard him say a number just that you should check it. He also said that when he goes to help someone having problems with their tank he takes his TDs meter and the first thing he checks.

I use mine up over 3 weeks or so as ATO and sometimes a saltwater mix. I have never worried about the storage drum, just what is being pumped into it...

Most hobby level tds meters top out at 9990.
