Tempeture

The best part of a temp controller is in the event the heater fails in the on position the controller will turn it off and when the temp drops to below the set temp it will turn it back on. Nobody would be the wiser that their heater has failed. I stopped using glass heaters after seeing some of the aftermath of a heater explosion. Just my $.02
for temp controllers what do you recommend?

do i want 1 or 2 for a 60 g. tank?keep in mind that the tank is in my basement and it's really cool down here.
If you are going to run 2 heaters get 2, just set the max temp on both the same, and set ones low temp setting below the other. Example would be set controller A low setting at 77 and high setting at 79, set controller B low setting at 76 and high setting at 79. This way they are both not running the same all of the time and one will act as a "booster" if it drops to low.

I'm not familar with these. I by 2 and then plug each of the heaters I have to temp controller.
