So I was doing a water change and hit the front of my tank wall to a glass container while filling my tank back up and the front glass crack it's at the top above the water level I have the piece that broke off is there anything I can use to glue it back in there will this start cracking down the middle of my tank . Ughh horrible day

I'm so sorry man.I can't really tell how bad the crack is....I'd be scared that when you apply pressure to glue the glass back your going to crack it more. As of now I'd be pulling out my large rubbermaids getting ready for a transfer

If you’re LFS does any type of its own tank builds contact them first. Give them an overall picture of tank showing the location of the break and some close ups and the type of glass and they should be able to give some recommendations.

Good Luck

I don't think they do any of the tank builds unfortunately ugh this sucks

Idk I don't think it's terrible it's a chip on the outter front glass it does not go through to the inside of the glass only about a 1/16 inward idk how much that can affect the durability of the glass but I'm really not tryna start all over.

I had something similar happen to my Nuvo 30L. It happened on the top of the back chambers though. I had an "emergency kit" prepped at all times in my garage incase something did happen but I had it running for nearly two years like that before I took it down. It was more of an aesthetics thing for me.

You might want to ask a auto glass repair guy if they could fix it, they have stuff to make chipped windshields invisible.

Looks like its just chipped. I did that to a tank i had years ago and it ran for 4 years after till i upgraded. I just hated the way it looked but it was fine, mine didn't go all the way through either.

I couldnt look at that tank with thst chip. The IM 30L is beautiful tank. Such a shame. Id change it up. I just bought that tank

Yea I do have the piece that fits perfectly in that spot maybe I could silicone it back in and see how it looks or get a glass guy I do love my tank the all in ones are awesome and the chip is going to bother the hell out of me seing it that way right in the middle of the front pane . I would love to go bigger though but the funds of upgrading aren't there right now the next tank I think Ima get is a 40 or 60 cube that's in the future but hoping this holds up

Could be fine but if you want to save the tank I would drill around the crack and patch the hole. I know windshields will crack starting at rock pecks unless you drill it out.

I dont think it will run more than it has, it is not going through the glass and it is round with no beginning running, so I would not worries about it

It's a chip and not a crack fortunately.
Other than being an eyesore it shouldn't affect the integrity of the tank.
I bought a used tank and it has chips all over the top edges and so far no issues at all.
My tank is a 130g starfire glass tank therefore I was worried but so far so good thank goodness

Thanks for all the responses and reassurances put a lot of time and money in this tank something could happen just as easy as that is scary

Auto Glass companies use some type of epoxy that fills the chip but more importantly keep it from cracking. You may want to reach out to them. I'm sure they could give you some advice.
