I did this once with a glass feed cup. Chipped dead center on my 3 month old 66 gallon rimless starfire. It has been a mute issue for 2 years now. Yes I cried. I shed tears.

That sucks I have the Nuvo 40 and that would kill me if that happened to my tank. But I see that's it's just a chip but on the other hand 30 gallons of saltwater on my floor would be the end of my reefing hobby

I wouldn't call that a crack. It's a chip and tank has not lost its integrity so it is safe to use. While moving a rimless starfire 100 gal to its final resting place (on top of a step), my friends pulled and pushed so hard that the tank hit a lighting shelf and it took out a huge chunk of glass (size of a tangerine more or less). I didn't notice until months later and till this day the tank lives on at my friend's house (the one who cracked it), with absolutely no issues.

So I was doing a water change and hit the front of my tank wall to a glass container while filling my tank back up and the front glass crack it's at the top above the water level I have the piece that broke off is there anything I can use to glue it back in there will this start cracking down the middle of my tank . Ughh horrible day

While many have chimed in and I agree with. It is a bit hard to tell what the overall issue maybe......if any
It is a chip, not a crack. You should be fine, keep an eye on it and leave it alone.
Chips in a vehicle windshield and an aquarium are about as far apart in comparison as night vs day, it is not even close! It is different types of glass, different types of pressures and issues
Don't be drilling anything anywhere!!!!!!!

I would definitely take some water out so there's no pressure. Also is there a glass repair shop for cracked windshields by you? In NY we have safelight, they'll come to your house and fix or replace the windshield. They'll also repair a tank, anything to do with glass. If you have something like safelight, give them a call and see if they can help.

I don't think they do any of the tank builds unfortunately ugh this sucks

Contact the tank manufacturer that should be able to tell ya what's what. It also looks like a chip not a crack I would think that's a good thing. You could also contact a local glass company and see what there option is

By what I can tell, it doesn't look that bad. Just wanted to say that I would buy another tank before having an auto glass company to repair it. The cost of a tank that size wouldn't be much more than the cost of a glass repair company. However, I feel you'd be safe with just silicone.

Windshields are different. They are 2 layers of safety glass with a layer of plastic between to hold everything together. I'd check with a glass company first.

I'm an old glass man, it is hard to see how bad the shell is from your pictures. Look for any small lines ( runs) in the shell. If there are none then you are going to be ok, if there are any runs in the glass it could become a problem for you as they can grow from pressure, or temp fluxulations. Maybe , maybe not, depends on how well you sleep. Sorry I could be more of a help

All I can say is you are sort of Lucky it was not the Curved Innovative Marine Nuvo Tank mine cracked by itself! Have you tried getting in touch with IM, the stress on the Glass from water and that crack could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Yea I contacted them they can't do anything about the tank I asked what remedies I could do for it but they completely ignored that question so idk what there doin
