Terry's 180 SPS Peninsula Upgrade

Thanks Rev!

I've been following your build, and I talked my wife into an in-wall tank in the basement. When we finish the basement, the fish room will share a wall with the family room. I am thinking something 6 or 8 feet, maybe FOWLR so I can do some aggressive big fish.

Great looking tank!

One question for you: most of your sps looks really encrusted. How did you remove them for the Bayer dips? Did you just pull the whole rock? Or do you have them on some sort of plugs?

Is that a "German Blue" M. digitata?

Can you summarize the lights you are running?

For the really encrusted rocks, I broke off what I could. For some of the stuff on smaller rocks, I dipped the whole rock. I am sure I left some in the tank, but things still look good.

I am not sure the names of most of my corals :)

Actinic LEDs come on at 5, ramp up and go off at 11 after ramping down. They are mostly just for a bit of light in the morning and at night, and a slight bit of blue pop.

The Kessils start ramping up at 6:30 am and go off around 8, after ramping down. They max out around 75% intensity and 80% color.

The T5s come on at 10 and go off at 5. Two ATI Aquablue Special and Two ATI Blue +

I'm pretty sure that's what he is. Not too many look like that....in fact none others that I know of. ("Purple monte" might be the closest I know, but it grows in a different form, for example.)

Was that photo with or without the T5's?

I'm asking cause that coral is one of my favorites and I've never had it color up for me under my LED's like it was under my halides. (I have a lot less light now too, so mostly just wondering about yours and your situation.)

Man just finished this whole build (now I am late getting back to work). Awesome tank!! I have gotten a ton a great ideas and you have answered some questions I have had lingering around in my mind..
I do have a few questions for you but I gotta get to work!! Lol. AWESOME TANK!!

Similar, but Stylophora is much thicker.

In general, I'd say M. digitata grows thinner than your finger and Stylophora grows thicker.

@Terry4505 what do you think it is based on that?

M. digitata generally looks like a mess of random branches too, whereas Stylo's tend to look much more orderly. ;)

I love everything about this build! Especially how it has evolved! Your aquascaping is one of the best I have seen!

Just got done meeting with our contractor about finishing half of our basement. Project basement finish is underway, which means project In-Wall-Aggressive-Fish/non reef-safe fish tank is underway as well... now how big do I go? 8 feet? 10?
