Just finished reading your build. Awesomeness. what advantages do you feel you have w/ the gyre and returns opposite the overflow? alos are those RW 8s on the overflow side. What mode and inrtensity are you running your powerheads. I like the idea of a room dividing peninsula tank. The missus has already given approval to build when we buy a house.

Before I had the Gyre and returns on the far end of the tank, there was a lot of surface scum that was building up. I keep the Jebao pumps on pretty low, and the Gyre at like 60%

Great update ! That's great about the new tank addition to the system , how big is the new tank going to be another 180g lol ?

Ideally, it would be bigger. The problem is the cost increases dramatically from a 180 to anything bigger. I could add FOLWR 180 to the system, with a DIY steel stand for thousands less than I could a 8 foot tank. I am going to scour Craigslist and Ebay for used big tanks.

I think he meant 8-10 feet for the sump, I believe the rule of sum is when stepping up tank sizes you have to quadruple your previous tank. Beautiful current set up though!

She really is incredibly supportive. I thank her all the time. You read so many stories of people's spouses giving them a hard time about their tanks.

Hello I read ur whole thread yesterday nice build so I have questions for u as I planed my build with some of the equipment u got rid of
One why did u he rid of the wavs u said u liked them then they were gone
Two why u get rid of the vectra?
Three ur return piping I see is connected with two penductors on the end why did u do the piping that way and how did u decide to hold it up.
I think that's all the questions I can at least remember

Beautiful project. Tank shows excellent dynamics. I decided to also dispense NO3: PO4-X from the Red Sea.
What is now the parameters of the system and how many doses you daily NO3: PO4-X?
