Is that a lot? I purchased the Helios 700w (2x350) and it's rated for 100 to 170 gals.

I run 600w total on my 250g system and it's plenty. Don't trust the ratings on any of the heaters. They are all wrong IME

Never have just one heater for your tank. I have a 40B DT and 40B sump. There are 3 small heaters in my sump. I check them every Monday morning.
