Thanks for having me!

Thank you for the info on the worms. I spent a lot of time diving down internet holes and couldn’t find out exactly what they were.

About the clowns... one is definitely larger so I’m assuming she’s the female. She has had the small male against this rock all day and he looks exhausted. I’m a wreck. . I’ve looked for eggs (see none) and looked to see if a white tube is protruding from either (none). How long can this go on?

Unfortunately it can go on for a long time. Mine were like that for 8 months and no babies!

Welcome! Love the clowns. I have a pair of MochaVinci clowns that look very similar. As for how many fish it really depends on the bioload and your filtration (both mechanical and biological). Assuming space and territory aren’t an issue (species dependent) just watch your filtration to help answer your question. And don’t get ahead of your good bacteria in the tank (adding too much too soon). Have fun!

Glad you joined our crew! Best of luck to you with your aquarium! Welcome from the center of the State! As for the number of fish for a 30 gallon tank...it’s depends on the size of the fish, however, I wouldn’t go with more than 4-5, the size of a Clownfish. The white spirals are Spirorbid Worms and are completely harmless and good for reef tanks. They are filter feeders that catch small plankton and particles of food. Are your Clowns a true pair? Are they the same size? All Clownfish are Males, then the dominant one turns into a Female and gets much larger than the male.

Hi! Since you were so helpful I hope you can offer some insight as to what happened to my female clownfish. As I mentioned, the female had the male pinned against a rock for the better part of a day. She kept making passes at him and whenever they got close they would almost appear electric. . The next day the female was very round, almost submarine shaped. We hoped for eggs! She kept swimming slower and slower... until she rested on the bottom. We were horrified. The male would go up and nudge her to try and make her swim. We had to leave for a cruise and the friend watching her said she was gone in an hour or so. What on earth happened? I feel horrible for the male... thanks for any help!
