The difference in copper types on wrasses

I estimate and get a second opinion from my wife. It's not quite the shade of 2.0 but definitely closer to 2 than 1

When I use Coppersafe and the API test kit, I just shoot for a color close to 2.0 ppm (a little over or under is fine.) Most fish seem fine at that concentration and it allows for some wiggle room. I don't like skirting the line too close to the minimum therapeutic level (1.5 ppm).

I took 4 days to bring up the copper to the area on the color chart where my wife and I both agree is at or just below the 2.0 ( I say just below, she said at).
The 29 gallon tank is actually 26 gallons, and I used 28mls. of the Coppersafe. Although the instructions on the bottle said I would need 33mls.
I think I'm done adding for now.
The wrasses are eating aggressively and are active.

Recently purchased a powder blue tang and hoevans wrasse. They've been in quarentine a week with no issues then bam out of nowhere the powder blue is covered in spots. Looks more like inch than velvet. Either way I dosed 30 ml of coppersafe and will dose the other 20 ml tomorrow night. Thought I got lucky as they came from petco but no such luck. Just an FYI our petco here in Fredericksburg va has come a long way with their husbandry. The manager of the aquatics section is a reefer himself runs multiple tanks and breed mandarins. We are very lucky to have him. He's still limited by petco policy but I can see a drastic difference in the health of their systems.

So here my countdown begins. If my memory serves correct 30 days at 1.75 ppm copper should do it. Then I'll transfer to an observation tank for 2 weeks. Sound like a good plan?

Copper safe seems to be safer than cupramine with leopards IME. But bringing the copper up slowly seems to make a big difference.

I know in some tanks were I have used copper, live rock and sand absorb a surprising amount. I have, in some cases, had to does 3x's what should have been the necessary amount.

I don't too much. But the other tests only go to 1.0 ppm, and the amount of chelated copper needed to kill ick is in the 1.5 ppm to 2.0 ppm.
So what do you do?
