Thankfully I have a diesel truck with a 5000 watt dc to ac converter! Have had no power since the possible tornado that hit last night. Storm took the power out at 2258 so I looked out the window and to my surprise 24” round trees were sideways, power lines were down, and I swear the rain felt like nails!
I ran out to my truck with a power cord fired the girl up, plugged the cord in and ran back into the house. I have all 3 return pumps running, 2 powerheads in each tank, a air pump with lines running to each tank and that’s it as it’s plenty warm in the house now.
I’ll say that was a horrible 5 minutes last night. For all those in the NWA, North West Oklahoma, SE Missouri I hope y’all are ok as that was pretty nasty!!!

And to add insult to the already bad night I have no coffee!!!! I’m afraid I may overload the converter if I plug the big ninja into it.

No Coffee? No way!

You can pull the plug on some of the pumps for 5 minutes while you make a pot; everything will be fine. ;)

Glad to know you and your family and tanks are okay. Nice to see that you had a power plan in case of an outage. I also have a 5000 watt inv on my truck. They are a good way to stay out of a bind. Hope your power is back on soon. Stay safe

Uber eats :)

Wow, from the looks of the yard. You did have a lot of wind, I am glad that only your power is down. I like your back up power supply.

Did you know 50% of 3rd world countries have to walk 2-3hrs a day to gather clean water for their family?

And you're complaining about no Keurig coffee... lol

Yep unplugged a pump for a bit and got my coffee life is good

I lived in Fayetteville for a short time. Glad you made it out okay, you guys get some nasty weather out that way. Got to hand it to those built in inverters, I have one in my Jeep. When there's a power failure I run the tank off the inverter to run for a couple of hours because it's easy to run an extension cord from the driveway to the tank. If the power is still out after a few hours and looks like it will be longer before it's restored I'll switch to the generator.

Yes the wind sure did a number. Here’s a few shots from the back of my shop going out to the woods.

Is the power back on yet?

That sucks and sever weather is no fun. I was in Alabama last week and one night we had a good hour of thunder and lighting and heavy rains. I took this video and it is only a minute long but it was more lighting in that one minute than I have seen in the 20 years living in Oregon.

Shopping 35KW generators to run the whole house now.
