Joking aside I understand any ideas as I would really like my wife to get interested in the hobby and starting this idea would help a lot. (Gee it took her 4 years to used to cats and dogs

Ah I see your having fun with that " green stuff" all over the rock. Do you still have the "red stuff "on the glass too? My green is gone cleared up finally still get a little bit of diatoms but not much at all other than that your tank is looking good. I don't have the size of coral growth you have but I just went to a much better light. But I'm impressed Great Job Dude congrats

Lawnmower Blenny is doing his job. No red stuff. Very little redish brown stuff. I'll just say I learned that ebay frag pictures must be taken under a microscope. I can say that all the one and two polyp frags have quadrupled. The one freebie has doubled in size from a speck to a yellow bump, but I have no idea what it is.

Oh on that I agree with you my frags were and still are pretty small. On Wed I'm going to try and attached a couple to rock. It I don't know. The light I had ( even after being told by the coral company it was) was not strong enough for them I lost two birdsnest' sand others are slowly coming along. That's one thing you can expect from this hobby. Live and learn a lot, not every tank is the same even is its next to another one. Every does things differently and it's up to you to figure out after listening to everyone what works best for your tanks.
It's cool it just the nature of the hobby and I love it

He is awesome. I have a yellow watchman that stays hidden I think he may have a clown nipping at him. I have a diamond watchman that has made a mess out of my Sand but we love him.
I just upgraded to a bubble magus skimmer and a BRS mini reactor for GFO. My apex setup isn't as nicely wired as others but it is on aboard I can take out of the cabinet. I still have the INTANK basket in one basket but the other has my TUNZE overflow.

FTS...kind of like texting...reefer term for "Full Tank Shot"...I think. Enjoy your YouTube vids Bob! Keep 'em coming! Yellow watchman goby and yellow head jawfish are buddies and have taken up the same hole. Going to try to control my spending and let everything grow for a few months and see how the tank "fills out". Not giving that much of a chance......if I see something new to buy...

I hear you about the money, I'm on disability and things are always tight so saving money is important but I tend to save and then spend. But I'm going to wait a while myself before I buy anything. No livestock but looking to get into Aquaforest products but that's it, that will be right at a hundred but I could really wait for that as well since I don't have a lot of corals

What is/was the green stuff? I'm going through same thing and most folks say it's the beginning of coraline algae... started with dry rock also.

It's not slimy and doesn't rub off at all so I wasn't sure. Depending on the light it's brighter green like image abover to a darker green.

The green is hair algae along with something that looks like lettuce. Trying to correct it with twice a week water changes. Not sure where it came from or a cause. Maybe hitched in on a frag.

Two pics the first is what I just did and the second is old. I took out the flat rock ( sawed flat on both sides) and rearrange things. All the critters (3) are in the big tank and I'm tearing down the QT to reset it up
