The JBJ 45 Slow Ride

I still have the INTANK basket in one basket but the other has my TUNZE overflow.
e
@Bob Escher, I have the same set up as your tank (almost) on one of my tanks, difference was a HOB Reef Octopus skimmer that overflowed one too many times onto the hardwood floors. You have a Tunze skimmer in the back left corner? Is that the 9002 or 9004? Does it work well, I have to get an in-sump skimmer, but the back of the JBJ 45 is a bit limiting.
Also, saw your videos; great job man! If I remember correctly you were going to get an InTank basket for chaeto. correct? I'm not sure if you already have one or two but you can buy one on the inTank website here and put the basket in the second chamber. The basket is an Innovative Marine basket but it fits and works perfectly in the JBJ. I cut the black covering on the back and light up the chaeto chamber at night.
Still interested in that skimmer you have in the back left corner overflow. Does it fit well and skim well? I need something but have been forbidden to use a HOB protein skimmer.

Not sure who you are talking about..no videos here. Nor do I have any chaeto in my InTank boxes. My skimmer is a CAD Lights PLS-50 and it works well. Just a bit touchy at times to set. It is in the second compartment and fits well. There is a does it fit video on Youtube for the JBJ 45.

Update on tank...everything is growing....problem is when you start off with frags and things grow at different rates ..you kind of end up being an interior decorator with no end in sight.....
I am happy with the Kessil light but, it appears that everything grows towards the center so I am going to invest in a full coverage light soon. Any suggestions on what to get will be appreciated. Prefer L.E.D. due to heat.
Have a Aiptasia infestation that I am dealing with for now with super gluing them up, but that has just slowed it down. The nudibranchs I ordered previously did not have any affect. In about 2 weeks, when I get through hunting, I am ordering more nudibranchs and some peppermint shrimp and see if I can eliminate the prob. Any help on this would be appreciated also. New FTS......

Looking good guy. I have a Zetlight z6500 which I like but for the price I would have gone with something a little stronger. AI hydra HD26's are nice, two prime as well but if you want apex co trol that's another thing thing. I wanted Apex control so bad. I think now with lights does it really make a difference to have it ran by apex? I'm split with that thought. Don't go with the Kessil A80's for us not very well at depth.
Two 160's would work or better yet a ecotech xr15 pro would be great

Here's my tank as of Wed

I just moved over holidays and my JBJ45 sprung a leak when i set back up which sucks. I now have everything in a big rubber container for the last week and half... surprisingly all the corals are looking better than ever haha!

I had bought a Red Sea Reefer 450 but wasn't ready to setup yet. Wanted to take my time with it and get it setup right but may have to go ahead and get it going now. Or I may just leave the Rubbermaid going for a few weeks.

I guess that depends on how motivated you are
I looked the other day and a 90 gal tank with overflow and a stand now costs about 150.00 less than my 45
So if my 45 springs a leak you know what I'm doing

Updates? I really like that GSP stick and the....Neon green toadstool?

I have not had any sponges. The branching GSP is doing good. I have been out of town for a week, so this weekend I am adding the second Kessil 360 light and starting a new round of Bryopsis treatment. As soon as I get everything rearranged and back in order I will post some pictures!

Ah since I maintain mine and only buy corals ( one or two) a month I don't post my tank much but sorry you have algae. Cut down that feeding

Added Second Kessil A360N this week. Frogspawn went south 2 days later. All of my water parameters are good. Not sure if it was 100% due to lights, but it looks like a goner. Everything else seems fine.

Is that a sponge that is green and looks like a

Here is mine I just added a Radion xr15 which I think covers the tank good
But other that the leather, some zoas doing fine not much of anything else is growing

That is a branching GSP that has not branched that looks like a ..... Not real happy that it looks like that...may have to "frag" it

Very nice!

I agree but I don't know about the patience part ( LOL) I in my 60's ( my brain says no your not but my body says otherwise) and some things I do have patience and some things I don't. Oh well
Yep so I have the back area open.
So I think I posted my stuff elsewhere but here is mine

JBJ 45 gallon tank
Tunze ATO ( the smaller one)
A coralvue icecap PK 50 skimmer
Innovative marine mini reactor
Aquatop 36 watt UV sterilizer ( don't know if I will use it yet) came over from the freshwater tank
Jabao 4 head doser
Neptune Apex with:
Salinity probe
2 temp probes
ORP probe
PH probe
WXM box with 2 Ecotech Vortech MP10's
PM2 box
Advanced leak detector
Two EB8's
Current USA marine LED light ( need new light, not strong enough for corals)
I'll be saving a long time for a new light, almost everything above I got with the help of disability compensation check)
Also be saving up for a Vortech MP40 as a lot of people say the MP10's aren't strong enough for the tank ( although I wonder I don't put mine higher than 50% seems strong enough to me
Oh and saving up for a sump and overflow box
But what do I know.
I think that's it

Looks like you have an impressive set up also. Pix?
