I think when they first hit the market they ran close to 15k. They had a lot of issues at start which Tesla later went back and upgraded all first time buyers. It was a pretty sweet deal actually because they also got a increase in storage capacity. But yes, they are pricy.

Here is the deal because the media loves electric cars. You charge at home or work or school or somewhere. Power is still being mostly generated by not so green processes. Especially most of us average Joe home owners. And even if we have solar, and I do for example, I do not produce enough positive energy to charge my electric vehicle....

Wheel goes around and around and around. It isn't paradise but what we have I guess.
I also figure the solar panels would have to be roof mounted in my application. Lake Charles had 132mph winds. Not sure whose yard my solar panels would have ended up in. :-)

Lol - that is very true. And yes more often than not the panels are roof mounted. It depends on the numbers, design, best light source, etc. Trees, buildings, and other things all factor in. I do not deal with Solar only my limited understanding after owning them.

You have another check box that I do not and that is Mother Nature. Well not all is golden bombs of light and love out our way with the fires and all in California but yes. Maybe panels on the roof isn't wise :)

Actually that raises a rather interesting question. How does one install solar in areas such as yours? Especially if the solar generation window is high what does one do?

Keeping an eye on power outage map and starting to notice small areas of power trickling into the city. Fingers crossed. I still can’t receive it because the service line was ripped away from my house. I have an electrician on that. I am so ready to be back in my house. Removing the ceiling in my living room on Monday - hopefully.

Ceiling and damp carpet in the living room. Insurance is replacing the carpet. My dog had chewed a hole in it and it needed to be replaced anyway. :-)

I'm not showing anything until she's done. I can tell you it's beautiful!

that just odd...when is a reef really ever done??? 900 pages of a build thread across many months and zero pictures -- I dont think this qualifies as a build thread and just a chit chat thread and should be moved.
