The Whacky Nem tank!

Very nice. Once I move my current corals and fish to my new setup which is still cycling. I plan on making my 60 gallon into a nem tank with RFA and BTA. Nems look nice. The rocks in my 60 are 3+ years old which should work well for the nems. Keep posting updates.

Photos here are either in the temporary 20 long under an AI prime HD or in the case of the sherman rose, in the display tank under a GHL Mitras LX7. I pick up the fusion 40 tonight after work, so it will be about a week or 2 before the anemones are put in that tank and are under the ATI powermodule.

Alright, I'm not the best at taking pictures and don't do any post processing but here are a few!

First up, my pride and joy. Sherman rose anemone!

Next, the strain of rainbow I used to grow out. Traded and sold all of them off but the one that is stuck in the tank.

WOW !!! Those are beautiful ???
I noticed that you said that you are keeping filtration to a minimum, but I thought anemones were very sensitive about water quality. Don't you need pristine water conditions to keep all of those anemones healthy ? Do you have to dose anything special to keep them ?

I'd love to see a build thread when you get there!

Honestly every aquacultured anemone I've kept has been very forgiving and easy. 2 tanks ago they were living in nitrates of 60+ and Dino's and we're doing okay.

I could be the exception but I have a much easier time with anemones than with sps. Can't keep even the easiest stick alive in my tank long term, but am pretty successful with anemones.

Those widows are such a beautiful deep red color. Where did you get them ? I would love to get a few of them for my tanks.

Bought them from someone who used to grow them out but had a tank crash, was able to get a killer deal as she was exiting the hobby. Even survived the shipping from Texas to MN without any losses!

Bulbs and ATO ordered and on the way! This will be good enough for now.

And of course a couple photos! It's crazy how much more detail shows when the anemone is under higher par in the box. The white specks on the tentacles start showing up and the foot really shows the purple that a widow is known for! The orange and green nem is doing alright, but not as happy as it used to be. I may pull it out of the anemone box and let it into the display to find a light amount it's comfortable with.

Nice! I'm in the process of setting up a nem tank myself. My main tank is a 75g and after a couple of splits I'm now up to 5 RBTA's and running out of real estate. The RBTA's are on a single rock that I can remove easily. I'll be using a 2og breeder that was once used as a QT. Don't want to break the bank with this tank so I'll be using stuff I have on hand and will only need to purchase a light for this tank.

Quick video shot in 4k! Colors not quite all there but still looking good!

Video upload doesn't seem to work, and I time find it silly to have to upload it elsewhere and link to it so here is a photo instead

Not much for updates here, Nems are still doing well but adjusting to the powermodule will take some time I think. Likely march/april before everything is fully adjusted to the new lights.

Had one melt on me in the nem box, might have hit it with too much light.

Other than that nothing new to report! Hope to take some updated photos in the coming days.
