The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Is this a trick? Did you get one for 299?
If I did, it wouldn’t have been a couple weeks before I picked it up!
This girl was at my LFS for 2-3 weeks as part of a ‘pair’ - the owner decided to sell them separately as long as he gets 900 total.

Here’s her eye. If I showed her body it would be too much of a clue.

Yep!
a gorgeous female too, the male is there but I’d much rather a female that transitions than a mature male.

Or maybe a Naoko??
It could be, I’ve not heard of the Black Fin Fairy Wrasse as a common name before. It could also be a Scott’s.

Could be talking about a "black back" or china wrasse. Not a fairy but still a cutie.
This guy?? I also want one, look at him

Does anyone here have a trusted online store for purchasing wrasses? I found one place that has a decent selection but I have never heard of them it’s called Pete’s aquarium.
I recently placed an order with Reef Beauties and my 3 wrasses were plump and healthy, eating out right away. Their prices are competitive and they usually provide a size option as well.

China Wrass is a beauty. I love my pair.
This the male, base color and nuptial coloration in my tank.

I’ve owned melanarus and lunar in the past. Recently picked up a yellow coris, lubbock fairy and six line from Reef Beauties. Fantastic health upon arrival despite coming half way across the country. Highly recommend them.

Hm, they have a ryukyuensis right now. Haven't seen those elsewhere.

Wow @OrionN they are beautiful and you just put it on the map for me. How is it keeping a male and female.
They are great in harem or pair. I have a 360 gal tank so you need to take that with a grain of salt. I don't know how they acts as mature wrasse in a smaller tank. I QT them in 40 gal breeder and they were fine together as juveniles. They grew, mature and change sex in my tank. Courtship swim all the time. It is not taxing or injury to the male or female. They are very well fed.

@OrionN I have a 150gal Tank do you think having two of those might be pushing it? Also even if I get one are they hardy? I have a desjardini tang that thinks he owns the world.

@JoJosReef I have been looking into tankstop. They have few nice choices including a https://www.tankstop.com/fish/wrasses/black-fin-fairy-wrasse-cirrhilabrus-melanomarginatus/. It looks beautiful but I know nothing about it.
I've spoken with Eric at Tankstop a number of times. He's a good reefer. Also runs the Blue Life company that sells various aquarium chems like fluconazole. Unfortunately, I'm relatively new to wrasses and know nothing about C. melanomarginatus. One day will have an @OrionN style tank though with all sorts of wrasses ;-)
