Both good guesses, he’s a transitioning male Paracheilinus attenuatus.

He’s smaller than my female Rubri! We now have 4 flashers and 2 fairies… We’re building up with the wrasses.

Unfortunately my Rubri and Carpenters have recently been going at each other more than just displaying - Today I noticed locking jaws. I’m hoping that feeding every 2-3 hours today will settle it quicker as they aren’t doing it constantly but feedings definitely help subside it.

Attempt #2 at photographing a miniature DT. His colours are stunning and I wish I could get them as he’s got the most adorable electric blue lines down his body.

The issues between the Rubri and Carpenteri seem to have subsided as well for now, hopefully it stays that way.

Just over a year old now. Roughly 4” now vs 1.5”.

This one made a 3 month hospital tank QT. Finally In the acclimation box for the display tank. Sold as a female Melanarus Wrasse. I have other Wrasses to just love the coloration on this one and wanted to share Super cool!

I have a 125 gallon FOWLR with butterflies. I would like to add a wrasse or two with my first choices being the leopards. The problem is that the butterflies have wiped out the pods. If I can get a leopard that is eating other food, will it be ok long term? Can I mix leopards? If I get a flasher would it outcompete the leopard for food? Thanks.

My leopard eats everything and between the leopard, the yellow wrasse and the two pinkies, there's not a pod to be seen in the display. They are all fat, fat, fat. Very good eaters once you get them in your tank and out of the sand. Just give them plenty of healthy food and often. Feel free to mix leopards with flashers/fairies. Feel free to mix leopards, they are just the best fish! Me, I would love to add a black leopard with my blue star leopard, but have to wait on the next upgrade. I'd also loooove a jeweled wrasse (Halichoeres lapillus).

They should be fine on a varied frozen diet.

My 100 gallon is predominantly butterflies and wrasses, and a few leopards are planned for that system. A healthy specimen of any of the hardier leopards (ornate, meleagris, black, moyers, bipartitus) should readily accept frozen.

Flashers and fairies should have no issue with leopards either, especially in a 125 gallon.

Ive been fairly quiet recently but here’s some late Wrasse Wednesday pics! The Edwardi is colouring up ever so nicely and is without a doubt one of the fattest of the wrasses.

The Cleaner is also Colouring up nicely, we’ve now got some yellow streaks along the head.

The Diamond Tail is the favourite of the flashers at the moment, look at how fat he is! He also loves to display even when the larger flashers go for it.

And last but not least, the FTS! All the wrasses but the Jade is in this photo. I love watching this tank with all the activity that occurs.

Well, I did a thing tonight. Stopped by one of my favorite LFS and brought home 3 new beautiful fish! Paracheilinus cyaneus, Paracheilinus carpenteri, and Halichoeres marginatus! The Dusky settled right in, the flashers are still pretty upset, but should settle in soon enough. Carpenter's also has a little bit of the anal fin missing, but is nice and fat, was active and eating at the store the past couple weeks. He was in with a bunch of damsels and I couldn't leave him behind. Looking forward to seeing them out and about with the big group of fairies!
