Thanks. Never seen him eat, just came out the sand today after being added a few days ago. He was a bit thin.Was he eating ok? He looks kind of thin.
Don't be too mad at the crab. I don't think he was the reason for the death. He was just being an opportunist like all crabs are. Sick/dying fish are just to easy to pass up.
Sorry for your loss, you have some beautiful wrasses.
I am so sorry for your loss Paul.Well he didn't make it. Didn't take very long either. I'm done with crabs. Thing is that one actually did eat bubble algae. Disappointing...

Beautiful! Is one of those guys a Flame Wrasse?Sorry to hear about your Potter's
I picked up a couple wrasses last night :

Very cool! I've always wanted Flame Wrasses, I'm hoping I can get lucky and find one with a lower price one day (wishful thinking, I knowMale and female flame, and an Earlei
)
So he has come out of the sand full time now, and I just fed the tank. However, he seems generally disinterested in the frozen mysis I am feeding. Is it normal for them to take a while to warm up to the food, or should I try something else? Any suggestions? Thank you very much.
Give him a little time. Checkerboard wrasses generally aren't picky.I have a question regarding my new Checkerboard Wrasse.So he has come out of the sand full time now, and I just fed the tank. Thanks! I did see him pick one up, but did not swallow it. I'm almost wondering if the pieces are too big.Give him a little time. Checkerboard wrasses generally aren't picky.

so here he is! Cool, huh?
Thanks so much Paul for the reassurance! And I'm glad they enjoy copepods...I do have those in the tank and see him picking all the time, so that is piece of mind!Looks like a healthy wrasse to me. I've never known any wrasse to turn down a copepod. Nice looking wrasse redsea!

SO BEAUTIFUL! Good luck Paul, I'm sure he'll do great. Keep us updated.Ok guys, I'm determined. 3rd time is a charm yes? No more crabs in the tank besides some small scarlet hermits, and no more alpha melanurus.
