Compatibility question -
I currently have a Solorensis Fairy and a Blue Sided Fairy.

I am wanting to add a Carpenter Fairy, Naoko Fairy and a Timor.

Do you guys think there will be any issues with these 5 together aside from introduction establishing of the pecking order?

What has the experience been with a mandarin dragonet with a leopard wrasse?
I would like to add a spotted mandarin when the pod population is back up in my tank, but I'm concerned as to how much competition the leopard will be for the mandarin?

Leopards don’t really compete with mandarins, I have a leopard and mandarin together in my 3’x16”x1’ tank and both are fat

Just keep ontop of the pods and you should be fine.

For super male sunday i want to post this little dude.
My lubbocks wrasse. He flashes a good part of the day. Just fast swiming with the occasional poke at others. Pretty gentle hounstly.
I will never get a good picture of him flashing. Just so dang zippy.

And you can kinda see the color change. Head goes bone white, red and orange stripeing on the body, pretty dramatic color shift.





My pintail has started to flash a bit, but nothing close to how stunning this little dude is.

Certainly, this guy got the be the best bang for the buck you can get as far as wrasses go.

I love this very inexpensive wrasse. The local Petco has another but she is so thin with pinched stomach and huge head. I did not think my success with her would be high so I did not picked her up. I am fully intended to get a harem of silver belly yellow wrasse but will try to pick healthier wrasse.

It is my 40 breeder QT system. I am acclimated hard to keep fish in this system. The wrasse is one of my two dither fishes. The other is a tiny Convict tang. Lots of algae, lots of worms and pods and some aiptasia.

The Solarensis I kept was too aggressive to be kept with other wrasses. I would avoid that one unless it is your only wrasse. Blue sided can be pretty aggressive too, but manageable. If you mean a Carpenter Flasher, they are generally peaceful, but might get bullied by the first two. I have heard the Naoko can be aggressive. No idea on the Timor but being a Halichoeres it would probably get along well with the others.

Thanks Devaji, the sand bed is about 3 inches. As you can see in pic she has lots of open deep sand options. She always chooses to dive where I know there is submerged rock. Don’t know how they don’t hurt themselves?

Think I might take a drive to my "semi" local LFS. They have a yellow tail tamarin, and my holy grail, a choati! If I'm lucky, I might come home with both!

Still have my old man a 10 year old H. Chrysus, and a melagris leopard. A little light in the wrasse genera.

Forgot about my Moyeri! So from about 8 wrasses, down to 3.

Love these fish, but I'm not sure I'm ready for more jumpers. I think the hardest part about keeping wrasses, is actually keeping them in the water.

You don’t have a tank lid? Leopards and other sand bed wrasses do not jump much but Flashers and Fairies will go airborne multiple times a day.
I keep harems of Leopards, M. meleagris and H. chrysus without lid with no problem, but no lid is not recommended with other genera.

Oh I have a lid, they just happen to find that one spot where they could actually fit(you know that one spot where wires or whatever go through the lid).

I have kept leopards for well over 20 years, and yes they can, and will jump, as will any, and all fish eventually.

My 10 year old H. Chrysus hits the lid daily. I had one negrosensis that I rescued 3 times from the floor, to eventually finding him as fish jerky one day.
