The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

My girls say hi

Enjoying some sunbathing :D

That’s what I was thinking! Make way the hamster can get to the sump and back!

And yeah they are so incredibly heavy. I was lucky I have a coworker who is just 250+ of pure muscle and could take half the tank while 3 of us did the other half :face-with-tears-of-joy:
Still chipped it but at least I chipped a top corner IMG_1210.jpeg
That is basically the exact same way we got my 5’ 180G into the house, that tank took 4 of us to carry - 2 on one end, 1 on the other end and 1 in the middle to take some of the excess weight.
the 4’ tank was an easy lift up and out with 2 people but that tank even with 4 of us was incredibly heavy.
But I’ll admit it, that pain was so worth it! And maybe I’ll get Acros in there eventually.

Ivy the black tri

I have a weak spot for Tris and Blue Merles, my Tri that passed 2-3 years ago was gorgeous.
And I have this absolute buffoon. He used to be rarely friendly and stuck to himself but recently has truly become so happy and playful.

Over 100 degrees and we had to drag them inside
I will never understand why darker coated dogs seem to love being outside, this was my
Tricolour, he absolutely loved to sunbathe.

I think it's as much about the smells and sounds as anything else. Especially here where unless they get a walk before 7 it's too hot. It's 85 and 630 am and that's with it cooling off a bit

Just wanted to share how pumped I am that my dusky wrasse is finally starting to show some color!!!
And a naso photobomber as well. Typical.

Yesterday, the Coris were getting on great; today was chaos. The smaller one was already underweight and had some minor damage. It is now in my peaceful tank with a bit more minor damage. It is eating if not well but is sitting on the bottom more than I would like. I don't know why they went from buds to bully and victim, but let it be known this is not a species to mix.

One issue with having a "natural" ish QT tank: the uglies!

Your pintail is so cute. They have the sweetest expressions. Might be the only species that can compete with female leopards for most adorable little faces.

Well, did I buy a new wrasse today? Possibly…
When will it actually enter my tank? Not until September :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

It’s a gorgeous specimen so we decided that it would go into a display at AquaH (the UK version of Aquashella basically). I’ll try get a photo of him tomorrow! It’s a Cirrhilabrus marinda.

Oh and, any fish entering my tank will be getting a freshwater dip from now on, I’m currently facing flukes is what I found out today and so they are going down. I am not losing my leopards and pencils.

You’ll absolutely love this specimen, it’s mint.

Here’s a male on Reef Builders, this is almost identical to my male.

I love the bird wrasse. Such an active fish. Glad the dusky is doing well, although no surprise when you see how big he is!
Definitely two types of wrasse in that tank. The big show offs and the ones who completely ignore the shows off. The bird wrasse just ignores the two shows, dusky and dragon, better than the rest. I think it’s the key to a peaceful tank.
