Thanks for clarification. My Meleagris has a light, almost translucent dorsal fin and the markings on one side appear lighter, similar to the one furthest to the left in your photo. I was just curious if there was any correlation to it's age being the culprit for the less striking appearance or if something else is going on.
She seems healthy and eats a great variety of foods such as LRS Reef Frenzy, LRS Fish Eggs, Mysis, NLS pellets along with live Mysid Shrimp, Amphipods and Blackworms from a local aquaculture facility. Basically anything I put in the tank she will eat... The tank is loaded with pods for her to snack on between feedings as well.
With that being said, what would cause her markings on one side to be less opaque?
Mine are going after everything I toss in the tank. It's great.
I have another Meleagris in my 240 already and when I got it, the pattern was really mottled. I was kind of disappointed, but after 3-4 months in the display tank, it's now normal.
