Thanks for clarification. My Meleagris has a light, almost translucent dorsal fin and the markings on one side appear lighter, similar to the one furthest to the left in your photo. I was just curious if there was any correlation to it's age being the culprit for the less striking appearance or if something else is going on.

She seems healthy and eats a great variety of foods such as LRS Reef Frenzy, LRS Fish Eggs, Mysis, NLS pellets along with live Mysid Shrimp, Amphipods and Blackworms from a local aquaculture facility. Basically anything I put in the tank she will eat... The tank is loaded with pods for her to snack on between feedings as well.

With that being said, what would cause her markings on one side to be less opaque?

Mine are going after everything I toss in the tank. It's great.

I have another Meleagris in my 240 already and when I got it, the pattern was really mottled. I was kind of disappointed, but after 3-4 months in the display tank, it's now normal.
Something they grow out of?

Gonna bring back some memories haha I'm still on potters #1 and had her for somewhere close to 2-3 years i forget exactly how long but she was the first fish in and has been the longest surviving fish out off anything I have added so far, never had a single hiccup she ate from day one and I never QT or treated for disease. Maybe I'm lucky who knows but she's still going strong after all this time and one tank crash later. Here's some pictures, First day in the tank October 27, 2013

Ever wonder what goes through your fishes head? Not sure how accurate I am here but this is what I pictured for this guy today. The chillest fish in the tank.

Yesterday evening before the lights went out I noticed one of the Meleagris was doing the flashing thing.
I saw it do it 3-4 times.Seemed like it was more to the front part of the body, maybe head and gill area?
It was only one of the four.
I was planning on doing a 30% water change today and carbon until tomorrow and start a 2nd round of prazipro.

But I'm wondering if I should pickup some new cupermine and a new test kit instead?
I don't normally keep any copper.

I would suggest doing the second round of prazi as planned and continue to observe to see if there is further scratching.

If you feel that copper is still necessary, look for coopersafe as wrasses do better with that form of copper than the one that is in cupramine.

This guy is having a rough night. Caught him after he went to bed to remove him from my tank after increasing aggression towards all fish. It really hurt me to see him run down the little pintail the way he did earlier today when I made the decision to get this gut out. He's been a great fish the time I've had him up until here recently. Hate to let him go but he needs a bigger home.

I have officially joined the wrasse club! As of Sunday, I'm a proud owner of a Checkerboard Wrasse! Not that I have seen him though because he has been in the sand since Sunday, lol. However, I am super excited! What a cool fish.

It's a species of Coris, so they will eat inverts, are semi-aggressive, and get larger than the 'reef-safe' wrasses.

Thanks. I figured he did but only have a few snails in my 125. He is about 2.5 inches but plans upgrade to a 300 are in the works.

Yes, H. melanurus. He's always been good except recently. He's been bullying for a few weeks now and it appears to be getting worse. Not wanting to loose my pintail over him.

My potter's leopard wrasse finally poked it's head out of the sand today. It was disoriented and laying on its side when it came out of the sand. As I was watching it my emerald crab snatched hold of it! Luckily I had my screen top off because I was preparing to try to feed. I was able to push the crab off and banish him to the sump. The potter's disappeared under a ledge only to be found flowing around in the current struggling to stay upright. I now have it until social acclimation box where it is laying on its side, still breathing, and I'm not sure if there is anything I can do to help. I don't see any injury.

Well he didn't make it. Didn't take very long either. I'm done with crabs. Thing is that one actually did eat bubble algae. Disappointing...

Was he eating ok? He looks kind of thin.

Don't be too mad at the crab. I don't think he was the reason for the death. He was just being an opportunist like all crabs are. Sick/dying fish are just to easy to pass up.
