A lineatus should be fine with that mix. As always utilize a social acclimation box and you should be good to go.

lineatus and rhomboidalis can sometimes squabble, but it's usually not a significant issue.

Only issue I had with my Lineatus was with my Pink Margin and it wasn't bad or prolonged. (Disclaimer : I hadn't read Hunter's article at that time)

The meleagris may be an issue in the long run with the tank size, but the rest of the plan sound suitable.

I will keep the melagris in mind also. She's tiny right now. Hopefully I will have a tank upgrade in my future by the time it gets any size... She ate some new life spectrum for the first time ever the other day! I think she's at the stage where she'll eat just about anything now. Would hate to have to get rid of her.

My buddy was wanting a female pintail and was willing to trade for a male pintail that he had. I went ahead and did the trade. She was so easy to catch going immediately into the trap at about 10 seconds in! Once the ruby head is caught (probably gonna be the trickiest one yet) I was thinking about a couple choices. I'm really liking the naokoe. I've read that they can be jerks when they get older. What do you guys think? Here are some pics. Is the new one male like he said?

They often are, and in a 40 could wreak havoc. Take the aggression of the rubriventralis and turn it up to 11...

Thanks. Honestly I don't think it was a trophozoite (really hoping so). He's been in a copper treated tank for a little while now. There was some grainy specks in the social acclimation box that I believe stuck to him, apparently I didn't rinse it well. I agree on the health though, mine was a little ham. The new guy is eating well, swimming well, and the colors pop! Everyone is playing nice. I will keep a close eye for spots on everyone though. Haven't sen any except for when he was first put into the SA box.

What's a minimum tank size that would work with what I have, plus a C. naokoe? Or does it mostly rely on the individual fishes personality? Just thinking ahead.

It all depends on the aquascape. If lines of sight are broken up, a 4' tank is fine. If the aquascape is more open, 6' or larger is better.

What other wrasse can I add? Its going into ~90 gallon tank, reefer 425XL

I've been strongly considering a 80 breeder (essentially). Tank dimensions are 48"L x 24"W x 16.5"T. A really nice footprint. Given that the scape is broken up, would it be a good possibility that it would work? There would be a chance that I would take the tank swap opportunity to still rehome the ruby head.

Any other flasher species and most of the fairies would work. Skip scott's, whipfin, roseafascia for fairies. Small Halichoeres, Pseudojuloides, and leopards would also work.

LFS told me the pintail and crescent wouldn't get along well. Agreed? I was debating on getting that one as well. Looks like I'll grab a hooded (on sale at LA right now) and another flasher

There are mixed experiences with both the crescent tail and isoscoles in the same tank.

I am currently cycling a new 215g sps donimated mixed reef tank that will eventually live up to its name, Dolmotopia 4.0 Wrasses Revenge. lol. While i dont currently have a ton of wrasse experience, the new tank is finally going to let me devote the time and consideration I have been wanting to for years. My question is regarding compatible non-wrasse fish species. I have done the whole tang thing in the past and have been thinking of maybe going with Angels of the genus Genicanthus. Everything was looking good in my reading until I stumbled upon mention that they may agressively out compete other planktivoresce.g. members of the wrasse genus (Paracheilinus. Does anyone have experience keeping members of both genus? Im already totally planning on having at least a couple flashers. Please tell me that i can also keep these beautiful angels. Thanks
