I'm sorry but IMO unless you're a fellow aquarist you will never care as much nor as well for my tank as I do. Nor would I ever expect them too.
I wouldn't trust them too!

True, but sometimes they care for you, so can follow your instructions.

I think the problem here is some people are not good at reading and following instructions, some are.

Maybe using numbered steps with things numbered for getting it done correctly,and in the right order.

I just resort to hiring the a LFS employee as a side job, hes cool, and my tank has always survived. Last time I let a relative take care of it, they didn't top it off and the heater ran dry and blew up my sump. My house smelt like burnt plastic for days.
